Pros

Security of government job and benefits

Cons

Poor agency leadership. Non responsive to staff. No leadership communication between north and south offices. Admin Support Staff have to spend far too much time correcting errors or improper work because there is no accountability for rule/policy failures, and no communication to prevent issues from arising

Pros

I love the people I work with and that I feel like I'm doing something meaningful. I also enjoy the camaraderie in the current division I work in. In the last few years the board has done a better job at making the workplace a more lighthearted place to work in too, by doing little holiday events here and there. I also enjoy the classes and training that is offered.

Cons

Work in a stuffy building. Would like for us to have more windows and maybe get some more airflow. Also would like for there to be better walkways to get some air and activity. Also some divisions within the Gaming Control Board don't inspire team building as much as others do. Although I've never worked as an agent in their enforcement division, I've heard that there has been some turn over much of it due to the pay in comparison to other law enforcement agencies. We've lost some good people because of that, unfortunately.

Pros

Flexible schedule, variety of work. Opportunity to work with different divisions.

Cons

I didn't care for the casino environment after a while. May have to be available 24/7 due to the nature of work.
