I have been working at Off to Work part-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Interesting, diverse shifts that take you to interesting places around the city -Flexible hours, ability to set one's own schedule is great for students/self-employed people -The other staff members are really friendly, good vibes -Opportunities to get more, better work -Opportunities to receive free training -Fairly reliable scheduling

    Cons

-Sometimes the shifts are really grueling -Some catering managers (not from OTW) are not very friendly/respectful -Sometimes there are last minute shift changes/cancellations, but not often -Shifts are not guaranteed

    Advice to Management

Overall good job! The only piece of critique would be not to change shift details on the day of the shift.

I have been working at Off to Work part-time for more than a year

    Pros

You can pick which shifts you want to do, and set your unavailability so that you aren't disturbed during busy periods.

    Cons

Management is very inconsiderate of the fact that you have other aspects of your life and day where you might be busy. If a shift falls through, you are automatically assigned to another one which is at different times and with a different length of shift. Shifts are mislabelled, or information and times will change the day before you start, and you are expected to be free and willing to keep the shift. You could... easily have signed up to do a box shift at a stadium and realise once you arrive that you are in fact in a different location doing retail sales. Management is rude on the phone and will hang up on you if they are done with the conversation, before you have a chance to speak. They very obviously have their favourite and least favourite employees. Training is definitely not sufficient as no one had a clue what to do when we started, and clients expect you to have thorough knowledge of the role they put you in, so it helps to have previous experience in the role where you were actually taught what to do.

    Advice to Management

Increase the level of training to more than just a one hour long presentation and a demonstration of every piece of knowledge you are expected to know. Not one employee actually knows what it is they are supposed to do. Give more information on each shift, so we can expect and prepare for what we have to do.
