    Pros

Fun place to build cool stuff.

    Cons

Lake of clarity regarding revenue and sustainability of the business. Messy infrastructure. Lake of documentation.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more and share knowledge. Engineers need to understand the big picture to better do their job.

I worked at OneScreen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Bustling office, fully stocked kitchen, a lot of company sponsored events and outings

    Cons

About 95% of the office consisted of fresh out of college school kids. The CEO did this purposely in order to maintain control. It was basically a one man show. CEO was very egocentric and clearly had favorites. No room for advancement because then you'd be competing with his favorites. Too many director-level employees who have only been out of college a year or two. The hours were way too long and the CEO expected you to be on call with email responses during off hours because that's all he did, so why not expect you to do the same? It's no wonder why the company fell apart.

I have been working at OneScreen full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

young employees, fully stocked fridge, occasional happy hours

    Cons

Office environment is very political. The CEO puts friend against friend to encourage a competitive atmosphere without regard to the social morale of the company. Clients go unpaid for months and are unhappy with performance of the company. Employees are not given any freedom to help move their clients along and are micromanaged through each step. When you talk to HR, you are met with the same "it is what it is" response. Low office morale, unhappy employees, unhappy clients, horrible environment.

    Advice to Management

to the CEO - Don't create drama and tension amongst employees, be open to other people's ideas, and don't cuss out and call your employees names.

to HR - listen to feedback. Don't just say "this is how it is." Make it better. It's your job.

    Pros

Builds advanced products for clients, quick to react to market change, good technology, laid back culture, client focused

    Cons

Potential for long hours, steep learning curve, more of an industry con then a company one.

    Advice to Management

    Empower senior employees more.

    Pros

This company treats employees like family. Everyone's hard work is always recognized and appreciated, and no one gets disrespected or put to the wayside. The company pays employees very well, and the benefits and perks are too many to count. The CEO is very gracious, down to earth, and is passionate about the industry we're in. He doesn't hide in his office like most CEOs. I work hard, and at the end of the day, it's a rewarding experience.

    Cons

The hours are a bit long (8 hours plus 1 hour mandatory lunch), and the office doesn't open until 8:30. So if you're an early bird looking to be home for dinner, this wouldn't be ideal for you. However, these hours are perfect for younger employees who love sleeping in and don't have kids to go home to.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. You're doing an amazing keeping everyone engaged and making them feel like they are an integral part of the company. Recognizing and rewarding employees is a great way to keep people with you for a very ling time.

    Pros

You get to work with out of the box thinkers. The bosses are not traditional bosses they are still co-workers as well as motivators and mentors. The perks are unbeatable, I have been through a few companies both large corporations and start-ups and I have never had benefits/perks like what OneScreen offers. The salary is very competitive, which lets face it more money is always a good thing.

    Cons

The hours can be long and some of the tasks can bring on a few headaches, but true personal, professional growth don't come without a few long nights and a couple of Advil along the way.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work, the direction that you are moving in couldn't be more beneficial for the entire company.

I have been working at OneScreen full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

*Growing company with a start-up mindset, not afraid to innovate, adapt, and make changes
*Collaborative team where everyone is willing to pitch in and work together
*Amazing perks! Regular happy hours, group outings, Summer Fridays, play room, and fully stocked snack bar
*Plenty of after-hours opportunities to get to know your coworkers- basketball, Fantasy Football, weekend nights out
*Supportive management that encourages you to explore your passions and provides the tools you need to succeed at work

    Cons

*This is a company that works hard and plays hard. If you aren't up to putting in extra hours during crunch times, this may not be the best fit.
*This is the type of environment where you learn by diving right into the challenge. There are plenty of people around you to ask for advice, but there's little formal training process.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! The collaborative environment has built a strong and happy work community.

I worked at OneScreen full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy to work with staff, fun co-workers. A lot of opportunity to learn about the video space and the relationships involved in between. Exciting experimentation for video implementation.

    Cons

    Micromanagement. Micromanagement. Micromanagement. Micromanagement. Micromanagement.

    Advice to Management

Allow your employees to do what they're good at, instead of undermining them at every turn. Solidify your goals, and STICK TO THEM. Milestones will never get met if random features/requests get thrown in haphazardly during the middle of a sprint. Stop micromanaging. Not everyone needs to bottleneck through the CEO.
