Pros

A lot of the people who are working there are genuinely fantastic, both knowledgeable about the industry and extremely helpful and friendly to work with. Office space is excellent both location-wise and in terms of facilities that are provided. CEO genuinely cares about the people who work for her, on a personal level as well as as employees. Every interaction I had with her was fantastic, and doesn't put herself on a pedestal above anyone else. Pip wants the absolute best for the people who work for her. Genuinely successful projects are praised, and highlighted regularly. I think the Monthly meetings were excellent in terms of keeping up to date with the progress of the company, and understanding issues that are ahead. You feel very much part of the wider business operation. Diversity and Inclusion is the best of any previous workplace (10+ years in industry), does not feel forced, gender split/sexual orientation etc, the team is extremely inclusive. Flexible working supported (start and finish time), remote working was somewhat supported - it seems to be very department dependent. Benefits are pretty good, there's usually always something going on each week outside of work if that is something you enjoy.

Cons

For all the great people, there is also a very 'clique' culture amongst some groups of employees. It is not only on a friendship level, but it is very much integrated into the workday as specific employees will back others to a fault, but will not hesitate to criticise and blame you when given the chance if you are not on their side. This leads into one of the biggest issues, there is a huge disconnect between the sales team, the development studio, the design team, support and the upper management. It feels like everybody is on the defensive, and not afraid to throw another team or individual under the bus rather than solve the problem effectively. Instead of finding a solution to an issue, or dealing with it and coming back to the issue later to highlight it together and work from it, there is a blame culture of finding the one responsible and giving them a hard time. It manifests itself quite passively, but reflecting some time after leaving this was the hardest part of being at Prodo. There are some great managers at Prodo, organisationally speaking they seem to have a strong hand on things. Without being specific, there are also one or two senior team members who simply do not have any ability to empathise or understand an issue from a less senior team member's perspective, and can be particularly harsh, rude, and just not nice to work with. Having spoke to other employee's who left the company, this was also reiterated by them. Job specific training was ultimately non-existent in my team, there was virtually no support for this. I pitched for proper training on both of Prodo's main software platforms but this was not provided.
