I worked at Professional Learning Institute full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Customer Service, at least what's left of it
    8-5 Monday-Friday

    Cons

    Basically scams old people
    No HR department
Upper management treats you like dirt
Extremely fast turn over rate for "BDC's"
    Hostile work environment
Insurance for a month before massive lay offs

    Advice to Management

If you are going to lay off employees suddenly and you tell them you will offer them other positions, I advise you do so. You made us all get insurance a month before massive lay offs, literally letting go of half of the company after making us sign up for it a month prior. Having multiple employees operate under two company names seems super sketchy and doesn't sound like it should be legal. Especially after telling people who you are with on the phone and identifying with different names and fake names when you call these old people to collect their life savings and knowingly sending them into massive debt. We will just have to wait until Professional Learning Institute lasts before they change their name or completely rent and themselves AGAIN. If you still work for Professional Learning Institute or any of their other shell companies I highly recommend you get out before you find your self without employment suddenly.

I have been working at Professional Learning Institute full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Up beat fast paced environment. The sales manager Dan Spurs plays an incredible roll and the company. If it wasn't for him I'm not so sure the company would even stay afloat. There's three different owners and they all have part ownership of multiple different companies, some more kinky and money-hungry than others.

    Cons

As an entry level position starting at ABDC, which is basically a position created to the intent of a liner or setter, as part of a liner closer technique used to close deals. You are expected to make 200 plus phone calls a day as well as deal with some of the owners in discussions on a daily basis. As to the right of privacy, I will not elaborate any further.
They also are very quick to judge, and have a some sort of an elitists clique formed that if you're not a part of, they'll fire you for a 3 minute tardy while one of the "chosen one's" can show up an hour late still out of their mind high and drunk from the Bender the night before, and not even get a second look.

    Advice to Management

Dan is the best aspect to the company that you have going right now, one of the owners Rick play a big enough role in the day-to-day interactions at work. He is overly flamboyant personality does not do a very good job at covering up his true narcissistic personality. Fraz does a good job in playing his role as the enforcer which blends in nicely as sort of a good cop bad cop situation with Dan. On the other hand, anytime Rick decides to show up he isn't doing the integrity the company any favors. Just gives the employees more of the perception that this is a cash grab scenario where your lining the owner's Pockets fat and fighting for scraps yourself.
Now I will say that most of what I've said has come from the perspective of ABDC and not a director. If you manage to get a spot as a director, you are pretty much set. As long as you have the skills to close the deals for the coordinators

    Pros

more relaxed dress code, good teamwork

    Cons

no regular benefits despite working full time, tend not to have enough employees to complete the work requested, performance reviews are few and sporadic meaning raises are also few and sporadic, no room for job growth in most positions

    Advice to Management

value the employees who do the work for you

I have been working at Professional Learning Institute full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - small size team
-one on one coaching with management
    - decent pay
    - location convient

    Cons

    - horrible management
    - so unprofessional
    - so hostile and demeaning
    - everyone has an "I'm better than you attitude"
    - they are a huge scam, it is cold calling and sales telemarketing just well worded
-the commission aspect of the job is a joke
    - their "hr" department and the "no retaliation" policy" is an exception to management

    Advice to Management

Quit. You're all horrible people and treat everyone like a material item that has no feelings and doesn't matter. You don't care about your employees or their lives or their well being.

I worked at Professional Learning Institute (More than a year)

    Pros

Management doesn't know enough about site building or design to know how much work you should be doing.

    Occasional free lunches.

    Cons

The company makes most if not all of its money on selling websites that won't make money to retired people who don't know any better.

Management is made up of sales people who don't know anything about website people or marketing, or are just random incompetent people who have no background in the area they're supposedly managing.

Actual good people get muscled out of their jobs by smarmy sales dudes.

    Advice to Management

Stop scamming people. Make a product that works. Or just close down and re-examine your existence.

    Pros

This company has a great atmosphere - I really enjoyed getting to know my coworkers and the schedule was great because I didn't want to be working nights and weekends. it was easy work.

    Cons

Cold calling all day, false promises of promotions, no benefits offered to any employees.

    Advice to Management

Don't mention a promotion unless it might actually happen.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Fair pay, very flexible hours/schedule, casual environment and dress code, mostly friendly and open work environment with opportunity to learn some new skills and build some new professional contacts.

    Cons

Lack of benefits of any kind whatsoever. Management is rather hands-off and doesn't sit down one on one with employees often if at all so there is little feedback or coaching. There is a lack of room for promotion and advancement. There is a lack of transparency and understanding overall between departments, and lack of communication from upper level management down to ground level employees.

    Advice to Management

Provide some benefits to your hard working employees, such as accrued paid time off, and health insurance, so you can improve employee retention. Meet regularly with employees, and actively coach them to better their performance, rather than approach employees in an abrasive manner only when they've done something wrong.

    Pros

Good pay, reliable schedule, straightforward expectations. This is a great job for beginners or people who want a set schedule unlike retail. The management is interactive and friendly.

    Cons

Monotony of tasks, cold calling, little to no training. Unless you are a "hard seller" it is very unlikely you will advance here.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time improving your processes - don't communicate promotion opportunities unless they are valid.
