Pros

Being out of the office working remotely.

Cons

This agency is 10 years old and is still blaming shifts and "growing pains" on its infancy. They have had enough time and experience to learn but refuse to because the higher-ups egos and micromanaging get in the way too frequently. I've seen women be treated poorly compared to my male counterparts which has made me uncomfortable at times. The higher-ups will put x,y,z strategies and processes in place with no vision just to see what sticks and leaves employees trying to guess how to do their job only to be literally yelled at. Many employees I've confided in have been called on the phone and screamed at by one of the main higher-ups. It's a tense environment at times. Not worth working from home, there are way better companies you could work for remotely.

We consider feedback to be a gift. We strive for an inviting, welcoming, diverse, and cordial work environment. We take concerns from current and former employees seriously and work to create an open-door policy where employees can share their concerns, criticism and feedback. We can share that the comments in this post are inconsistent with our work environment, and they were not shared with us previously by any current or former employees. We value the advancement of women in our company, and our internal audit demonstrates that women are compensated competitively and fairly for their work. Furthermore, a review of our leadership shows that the majority of our employees report to directors who identify as female. Nonetheless, we know that we can always improve, and we want to ensure we promote and enforce a respectful work environment. We invite this reviewer to reach out to us via email so we can hear more about how we can improve.

Pros

Working at Profound Strategy was overall a wonderful experience. The team is collaborative, supportive, flexible, understanding, and extremely knowledgable. Even the interview process was wonderful: Everyone I spoke with respected my time, was incredibly kind, and completely transparent. The onboarding process is second-to-none, with two weeks of in-depth training that sets you up for success. For several years, I built my writing, editing, and content strategy skills with clients I'd never dreamed of working alongside. My manager was quite honestly the best professional mentor I've ever had, which is difficult to find in the marketing world! Editors are given a lot of responsibility, but only in the best way possible. You're truly valued in this role, and have the ability to stretch your wings in so many different ways. I'm so thankful for the experience I gained while working at this company. I'm also incredibly grateful for the people I worked with, as everyone is so thoughtful, kind-hearted, and collaborative. Profound Strategy is a small company, which means every person in the company gets to regularly interact with the founder/CEO. This helped me to build my confidence and understanding of SEO, content marketing, and client relations. I would strongly recommend this company to any content marketer/editor/writer.

Cons

The only disadvantage of working at Profound is the same thing that makes it so wonderful: It's a small agency that has limited roles and room for growth. They are excellent at making sure you're satisfied in terms of daily work, and they're even open to hearing ideas about potential new roles. But if you're happy with what you're doing and just want to continue to grow in your career, you might find it difficult to advance in any meaningful way. This isn't necessarily the company's fault. They can't simply create roles or opportunities for the heck of it, after all. But after a few years, I think any person looking to expand their skills further or make more money will find it tempting to jump ship. If you're looking for a place where you can make significantly more money as you advance (or receive any bonuses), this might not be a great fit. I have friends doing the exact same work at different agencies making twice as much as I did at Profound Strategy, which made it difficult to want to stay.
