Pros

Office is in a good location

Cons

Senior management - promote shameful blame culture. Treatment of staff is close to bullying, people are often seen in tears, office atmosphere is awful. No women in senior management, very masculine culture. MD doesn't care about people, only his self image outwith the company, mass resignations and horrible culture reflect this. Work - clients are made ridiculous false promises at sales stage that can’t be delivered on so staff are always under pressure to deliver the impossible. Projects are always understaffed and getting worse. No focus on performance or quality of work now, just how you personally act and "sell your brand" to others. HR department exist only to back up management, they don't care about employees . Huge staff turnover, around 20 resignations (a third of the company) in the last 6 months, including multiple new starts.

Empty Shell of a Business

Pros

The business' benefits are good.

Cons

As soon as you walk in the office you can feel the life escaping from your body. There is no personality here. There are so many empty desks the office always looks dead. The CEO bad mouths clients, potential clients and investors in front of employees. He has no business acumen. Fiddling with numbers at sales stage to desperately win projects without consulting the team to find out if its even achievable. It is embarrassing how little he cares for his staff. All talent has left this business. Middle management do not have a clue what they are doing, both in terms of industry knowledge and people management. They are only in their position because everyone with talent has left and the company cannot recruit fast enough. Clients are unhappy. They do not see any value from the agency. Even new projects are retention risks.

Thank you for providing this feedback on your time at QueryClick. Whilst we receive positive comments internally about our benefits/training/opportunities we offer, myself and our management team take every piece of feedback seriously to see what we can learn or could improve on so thank you being open here. Our management team dedicates itself to building a great agency, one that is a great place to work and delivers for our clients. Sometimes, we agree, there are growth pains – and getting the communications right is one of the big challenges we have faced. Chris our CEO is a focused individual, committed to driving the success of QueryClick. Chris is always open to feedback from any member of the team and as such regularly reviews and replies to feedback in our employee pulse survey Office Vibe. The happiness of our team is of the upmost importance to Chris and as such he was instrumental in driving the work/life balance and wellbeing initiatives with HR as we understand our team members have commitments outside of work too. Clients are second only to our staff in terms of their importance to us because we have the unique technological solutions to back them up, we supply value share contracts with clients that reflect our confidence in our ability to deliver the results. Nonetheless, we work hard with our expert teams to formulate these strategies and ensure they can facilitate those promises and will make sure we continually review this process. I am sorry to hear that your experience did not match our intentions and would really value a confidential conversation with you to discuss this further (please email me directly)? Thank you again for sharing this feedback and I wish you all the best for the future.

Horrible employer and awful company

Pros

Edinburgh office in central location.

Cons

Systemic issues in company culture start at the top. Vain senior management duo place more interested in self-promotion and the use of internal PR to distract from obvious employee dissatisfaction across the business. Individual staff left to their own devices, in a 'lone-wolf' environment where collaboration is an afterthought. Sales & Business Development functions repeatedly over promise to clients and lead a blame culture where delivery teams are blasted for the failures of the management team to implement proper procedures. Duties almost exclusively focus on resolving problems of other people's making, repetitive boring tasks and using broken Excel spreadsheets. Limited opportunity to develop professionally. Widespread organisational reliance on bamboozlment of people with circular conversations, buzzwords, meaningless metaphors and hyperbole inflicted on staff from management, and on clients from staff. A straight answer can be hard to come by. Staff turnover extremely high for a company of its size. Rapid, unsustainable, growth has coincided with departures of some of the business' most experienced and knowledgeable staff. Mediocre benefits package does not make up for below-market salaries and the regular crises & disastrous handling of routine procedures.
