I worked at RIESTER full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You will gain insight into the industry and have the opportunity to work with and connect with many talented people. The pro is the people, not the company.

    Cons

From the outside looking in, RIESTER seems like the big dog agency you want to work for until you actually get there and realize it is a place that has no culture, no value for its employees, and absolutely no structure or strategy in any of its operations. At RIESTER, most employees work 50-60 stressful hours a week for very little pay--this company will low-ball your salary so hard you will feel ashamed if you accept an offer here. Employees are tremendously stressed and unhappy and management is too busy worrying about their own benefits to care. This is not a place young people should expect to grow as favoritism runs rampant for people who have been there from the beginning and your skills don't even matter as you will likely just do work your boss doesn't want to. New business and borderline abusive clients are placed above employees and the turn over rate is high. Forget about any promise of growth or "raises"--raises are a topic avoided at all costs and even if you fight to get one, you likely wont receive it for 4-6 months. And beware that in case of any uncertain circumstances, discarding employees is the first plan of action. Many people were let go due to COVID-19 and while this is an understandable situation, the way it was handled was extremely disrespectful. Some people even lost their benefits the following day. All of this is sadly telling. If you can help it, stay far far away. This company only looks good on paper and because of the awards it wins on the backs of it exhausted, unhappy, over-worked and underpaid employees.

    I worked at RIESTER full-time

    Pros

-You might get the chance to work with some big names -Bring your dog to work

    Cons

-Company culture is one where you do the work, and someone else takes credit -The multicultural agency mindset is a facade and marketing research methods are racist -Many individuals in the company pretend that they are a journalist -Not a place for young people to succeed -Low pay for hours worked -Not allowed to bring in new business -Weak company strategy and I was never sure what the Chief Strategic Officer provides in marketing insight -Favoritism is always at play -Co-workers are willing to sabotage you and leadership plays right into it like fools -Can easily be let go without solid reasoning

I worked at RIESTER full-time for more than a year

    Pros

At RIESTER you'll be overwhelmed by the lack of processes in place that you'll become giddy with the idea to create or improve upon them...

    Cons

To your dismay, you'll find the lack of processes isn't in fact due to a lack of "process" but a consequence of poor leadership that starts at the very top. You'll find this within every department and see it erode every individual at the company over time.

I have been working at RIESTER full-time

    Pros

I love working at RIESTER! I'm constantly learning new things and learning how to approach problems that need solving in new and creative ways. The people I work with are kind, competent, and intelligent, which doesn't seem like it should be too much to ask of a work environment, but I have had it so rarely. I have had to put in some major hours for various projects, but my time and effort always gets a "thank you," which really means a lot to me. Moreover, it has been reciprocal: because I have worked late nights and put in long hours, it's not a big deal if I need to be a little more flexible with my time at other points. More than anything, I feel respected as both an employee and a human being.

    Cons

Sometimes projects get messy, which can be annoying. But the silver lining is that no one is just like, "too bad, deal with it!" People are always asking, "How can we make this work better? How can we streamline communication? Etc."

I have been working at RIESTER full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Huge amount of diverse work I get to participate in. Great benefits package, including a dynamic wellness program that encourages and rewards healthy habits. Important clients & causes get to work on - including Anti-Tobacco, Anti-Bullying, and Sickle Cell Anemia treatment. Can bring your dog to work, and have lots of opportunities for career advancement (if you're willing to work hard!)

    Cons

So much work it can be overwhelming. Requires a lot of prioritizing, stress management, and being able to jump back & forth between tasks. Not for the faint of heart - workhorses thrive, slackers struggle.

I have been working at RIESTER full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Welcoming and positive environment -Dog friendly office (!!!) -Occasional bonding activities and food -Weekly video reports featuring company updates and new employee introductions -Compassionate and understanding supervisor(s) -Variety of clients -Office location -Prospect for growth (as both an agency, and an individual employee)

    Cons

-Having consistent and thorough communication with people above can be challenging at times, as they are incredibly busy and have a large workload (not a massive negative or anything, just a slight challenge at times - also a huge testament to the work ethic and capabilities of RIESTER employees)
