I worked at RWE full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Job security is a big plus, hence low fluctuation

    Cons

Inflexible company, bad strategy, too German, top-down focus

    Advice to Management

Get more young talents on board and motivate them. Further get rid of all the old managers sitting in their chairs for decades.

I worked at RWE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Comprehensive benefits scheme as you would expect from a large corporate. Good offices and working environment. Career advancement opportunities.

    Cons

Perpetual reorganisations very destabilising to morale. Slow and ponderous corporate parent, imagines that firm is nimble whilst it is crushingly slow.

    Advice to Management

Keep struggling on. Try and find a coherent strategy. Try to be more empathetic with the delivery of information to staff.

    Cons

impossible to get bonus, hard to implement any ideas

    Advice to Management

Think more about the employees, not just the higher management.

I worked at RWE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good environment, good place to learn. One can learn about the entire European energy complex well from a market leader. Was a good learning experience for me.

    Cons

pay is less and Swindon is not the most desirable place. The office location is not the best! But the people are nice which makes up for it!

    Advice to Management

Management has always been very supportive of career growth. They are very hands on. But the recent energy crisis has really tested them and they have done very well.

I have been working at RWE (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good working environment with friendly colleagues. Some movement towards flexible working with a challenging atmosphere in that there is a lot of work required to get the IT structure of the company fit for purpose.

    Cons

Company is disorganised and in a state of constant change. Leadership from the top is not strong and is German-centric, the senior management are trying to impose a one size fits all approach which i not working due to the different levels of maturity within each country..

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to impose the same work practices over different cultures, allow each country to work within broader guidelines without tying progress to that of the slowest one
