I worked at RetailNext full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Downtown location has some nice coffee and lunch spots

    Cons

    - Too many moving parts - Retail (brick and mortar) is dying - Super long sales cycles - Management all come from Cisco and are very hardware focused - No value for UX - Customers are not first

    Advice to Management

Enjoy the investment $$ before it runs out

    Cons

Lack of opportunities for certain roles, and the feeling like you are on an island when remote

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees, and don't make them feel like they are on an island when they are away from home base.

I worked at RetailNext full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Food catered every Friday.

    Cons

    - Management is extremely disorganized and can't care less about their employees. -- High turnover and a revolving door. Half the staff is gone and are being dropped randomly regardless of performance. There are literally sections of the office that used to be filled with employees but are now just empty tables and chairs. - Office politics

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees. Treat your employees right and pay them fairly. Properly train and help them grow. In return, they will help the company grow many times over.

    I worked at RetailNext full-time

    Pros

    * Benefits are decent * Catered lunches on Friday * (Somewhat) Fully stocked kitchen * Open office space * Unlimited PTO * Ability to work remotely * At the non-management level, great people

    Cons

    * Management only cares about numbers * Unlimited PTO, but still kind of required to work, so you're never fully disconnected. * Micro-management is in every single department * Company is very sales driven * No real opportunity to grow * Rare raises/bonuses * No work/life balance

    I worked at RetailNext full-time

    Pros

Team was amazing (save one or two people, but that is always the case), and the product was the best in the industry.

    Cons

The process for executing was cumbersome and took too many resources. They are working on fixing this, and that should make the company stronger.

    I worked at RetailNext full-time

    Pros

    * Decent pay * Good benefits (no 401k match, but otherwise quite good) * Many good and talented colleagues making the best of it * You can learn a lot here, and it'll serve you well in your next job * Company has a great product offering and a good vision going forward

    Cons

Read the bad reviews from the past 3-4 years, pretty much everything still holds true - nothing has changed here. * Far too few engineering-related resources for the work needed - backlogs of customer-requested features are years long and firefighting is constant. It effects our conversion rates for new customers * No performance reviews, no career opportunities. You'll be told there are "leadership opportunities" in...

    Advice to Management

Grow the company. Hire staff to build the product and manage the product and you'll get the rewards in higher bookings. It's worth the expense.

    I worked at RetailNext full-time

    Pros

    - great colleagues. I met some amazing, talented people while at retailnext - flexible schedule, decent snacks - good product, good position in competitive landscape - while there may be significantly more cons than pros, retailnext can be a great stepping stone. Nearly everyone who leaves the company (willingly, or not) finds something better

    Cons

    - poorly managed operations across the board - unless you work extremely hard, in an essential role, for less salary than the job is worth, you will not be immune to sudden firing or outsourcing without notice - almost constant focus on cleaning up emergencies, while the source of problems often goes unaddressed - good employees are overworked, underpaid and stretched thin - management views employees as little more...

    Advice to Management

    - invest in workers and culture, then talented people will be motivated to stay - more transparency from management regarding layoffs / org changes, far too many secret meetings to determine the fate of employees
