    Pros

Good training, open door policy with management. No Drama. Work at your own pace, with help available when you need it.

    Cons

Very small. Very quiet. This is not necessarily a bad thing.

    Pros

You can build your own business block, but do watch out if you build it too well. Yet for a young person starting out, this may be an okay place to learn. Once you do, find a larger concern that would have ethics and proper HR.

    Cons

The better you did, the more discrimination there was. As you were one of the top two in production, benefits were taken away. As a business owner today, I reward an achiever! Who would stay when you are basically punished for doing not only well, but better. A senior level person should go to a well recognized search firm which has much better business practices.

    Advice to Management

Reward and build your better achievers, treat them well and stop thinking of only increasing your Christmas bonus to yourself and to no one else.

I worked at Search Plus full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Looks great from the outside, not so great once you get on the inside

    Cons

Not much, if you want to feel bad about yourself, enjoy being the person that the owner decides to chastise to make herself feel better, work for free, you would be better off volunteering for free at an organization that will appreciate you. Unhealthy environment.

    Advice to Management

Owner needs to learn the words: gratitude, appreciation, thank you. There is a reason why people leave. it isn't a nice place to work and when you are in town, people freak out until you leave. Worst job I ever had.

I have been working at Search Plus full-time

    Pros

Has corporate processes and policies in place that run like a larger corporation but in a boutique fashion. Great team work and an outstanding work environment. Search Plus International/Texas provides individual, professional attention to all companies and candidates. President leadership is wonderful and professional. This company also offers a lot of opportunity for growth.

    Cons

Unless you don't like challenging yourself and continuously learning new things, there are no cons.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I worked at Search Plus full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can build your own business via acumen and your tenacity. If you have the basic knowledge of how to deal with people, give them respect, do your research and keep at it, you can get a good clientele.

    Cons

Even if you have built a good clientele, have good, solid candidates, and even better 'sales', the President can take away (and has) well-earned benefits because (she) wants that money in her pocket instead. I do not know whether it is because your sales were higher or you were simply good. In the end, her lack of true corporate ability/stability/most importantly fairness, is clearly in the way. She is a decent recruiter, just not a corporate leader.

    Advice to Management

Put solid SOPs in place. Within those, have a clear and distinct description of commission percentages and breakdowns, for what or whom. If you are taking psychological profiles of prospects and/or employees, then all had better been taking of management as well. If there is an audit at any level, equality better be the norm not the exception at it is. Have clear and distinct descriptions on benefits: when they start, what you 'earn' at each stage or level, what you have to pay for and/or what the 'company' gives you (paid for). Finally, if you are going to take a benefit away it surely had better be for "cause" not because the President feels the person made plenty of commissions and feel they should pay for it. A good President doesn't 'up' the bonus for herself before all other commissions and bonuses are cut from a lower profit level, especially if she did not do as well. If you give any type of paid benefits and the person is regarded as a top agent, you do not take away...you reward the person! After all, you are only as good as the "whole" of the organization, and it takes years to improve (if possible) again. The reputation suffers.

    Cons

No PTO, no sick, leave, poor management, no career path, high-turnover, was made to make coffee with water from the public bathroom sink (served to guests) because company was too cheap to pay for water, no career path, deceitful hiring practices.

I have been working at Search Plus full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The ability to sell a Mom and Pop as an International Executive Search organization. Convince search consultants that the residual referral based business will account for 50% of your business portfolio.

    Cons

Working for the Headmistress and the lapdog. It all goes down hill from there.

    Advice to Management

Stop suckering people into a false promise.

Instilled high ethics, confidentiality, and mentor-ship. Very respectful of all individuals, companies and candidates.

    Cons

Not an overnight process to really understand the business model, personal growth comes in segments if you are willing to stick to it.

    Advice to Management
