I worked at Seattle Mariners part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great perks, 4 tickets per month, great HR and leadership...working overnight made it hard to get promoted since your bosses never worked with you directly.

    Cons

negative work enviornment hard for a new employee to get recognized, very cliquey at times

    Advice to Management

take a more active role in listening to employees, consistency

I have been working at Seattle Mariners part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Vouchers for tickets each month, half priced food vouchers, part-time and only 6 months a year.

    Cons

Not sure where to start. A TON of employees just want to stand and watch the game. You are not there to watch the game - you have a job to do! The supervisors don't do anything about such people and don't bother complaining them either. HR does nothing and your supervisor does even less. The kicker is that when you stop complaining about people not doing their jobs they actually think they have improved!
You are supposed to be available to work half of the games and there are people that barely work 20% of the games. It's a rule, but no one enforces it.
The supervisors or captains for the different teams around the ball park can totally be on the ball or just kind of wander. There is a huge difference in all of them.
Uniform? Don't worry, it hasn't been enforced in like forever. Some captains do, but that is truly the exception.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at how problems are handled. Supervise and train your captains. And the biggest one, Address problems! and stop putting your head in the sand and do your management jobs.

I have been working at Seattle Mariners part-time

    Pros

Great benefits. Discounted food and tickets. Cool to work for a MLB team.

    Cons

Extremely part-time. Not that many hours and you have to pay for your own parking. It's discounted but traffic before and after games can be a nightmare sometimes.

    Pros

    Good benefits and comp tickets

    Cons

Not a lot of room for upward mobility. Tough work/life balance and pay is below average for lateral jobs outside the industry

    Advice to Management

Invest in your current employees. Don't treat every employee like they're replaceable because every young kid is willing to work in baseball for pennies.

I worked at Seattle Mariners part-time

    Pros

The perks are amazing. The treatment is as good as can be by the organization. I would highly recommend if you have the chance.

    Cons

Since they are a baseball team, you are limited to 81 games a year, since the post season isnt likely.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you do. I never experienced any problems with any single person involved top to bottom.

I have been working at Seattle Mariners part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free or lo cost tickets, free or lo cost tickets

    Cons

Security is a grind and they wonder why they can't keep people. Unless you are a special few who get the choice jobs, you are being brutal to your body. I guess they don't know about ergonomics. Go ahead, file a worker comp report. They are self insured and will deny

    Advice to Management

take a good look at this, please
