Pros

Fellow employees were very friendly and pleasant to work with.

Cons

The turnover speaks for itself. For a company that has been around for decades, the fact that there are only TWO long-term employees should tell you everything you need to know. If you work here, you will watch people constantly come and go. Work-life balance barely exists. Employees are expected to be in the office every day for long hours, despite the work not requiring it, and weekend work is often normalized. The expectations are outdated, inflexible, and disconnected from how modern workplaces operate. During the interview process, you’ll be promised “growth opportunities,” but don’t expect any real development once you’re hired. Advancement is nonexistent and disorganized. Leadership is disconnected from what employees are actually managing day to day, and will ask other sources what employees do instead of communicating clearly. "Leadership" consistently fails to take accountability, and the company culture revolves around blame instead of support. There is a specific kind of exhaustion that comes from working in a high-pressure-for-no-reason environment where the “blame game” is the primary management style. Employees are criticized for issues that existed LONG before they were hired, and instead of addressing the root causes, management looks for someone convenient to fault. The compensation is shockingly low for what’s expected. Especially considering this is a mystery shopping company, an industry that does not justify the level of pressure, rigidity, and self-importance leadership operates with. The expectations would make you think you were working in a life-or-death field, when in reality the work has very little real-world or meaningful impact. And employees with similar workloads and roles are not always compensated consistently or fairly. Management also makes little effort to create an inclusive or respectful environment. Basic things, like learning how to correctly pronounce long-term employees’ names, especially ethnic names, seem to be too much to ask. The world is changing, but this company refuses to evolve with it. If you are not constantly joking around or seeking attention, leadership will rarely acknowledge the amount of work you are doing, let alone appreciate it. There is also an extremely unprofessional culture behind the scenes. Gossiping about their employees and speaking negatively behind people’s backs seems normalized among leadership. The owners regularly behave immaturely and openly bicker in front of staff, when they decide to show up, creating an uncomfortable and tense environment for everyone around them. Employees are treated as disposable while being underpaid, overworked, and expected to tolerate behavior that would never be acceptable at a healthy workplace.

Pros

Office snacks were provided which was a nice perk. Co-workers on my team and in other departments were supportive and fun to work with on a day-to-day basis.

Cons

Workload was consistently high, with frequent shifts in priorities that created a reactive work environment. Communication from leadership was not consistent, which made expectations unclear at times. Hiring decisions impacting my team were made without my awareness, limiting visibility and alignment. Internal processes felt underdeveloped for a long-established organization, which led to inefficiencies. Compensation and advancement opportunities did not align with increasing responsibilities.

Pros

Very nice fellow employees to work with.

Cons

Management insulted fellow employees behind their backs, yelled at me, violated work/life boundaries. A lot of micromanaging and reacted to every email that they got with instant panic and made it my problem.
