Pros

SET works with some of the most cutting-edge brands in the world. The employees at SET are creative, hard-working, and dedicated.

Cons

While at SET, I was subject to illegal wage and labor practices. In addition, I was instructed to enforce similarly illegal wage and labor practices with the contractors I supervised. I assisted in the commission of fraud on behalf of one client, and was asked by management to commit fraud on more than one additional occasion. Management has no scruples, ethics, or care for employees. Work/life balance is non-existent - I often had 80+ hour weeks (and occasional 20+ hour days). On more than one occasion, I had to cut pre-scheduled vacations short to accommodate my workload (and very poor planning on management's part).

Pros

Only pro I could see is that they hire under qualified people so if you are looking to get into the industry take the job as a stepping stone since they will hire you.

Cons

The company expects you to be available at all hours all days of the week. I sat through a company meeting where they had a powerpoint slide with the "fifteen minute rule" which essentially said you need to respond to all emails or correspondence within 15 minutes of receiving that email regardless of time of day or weekends/holidays. They used the owner of the company as an example saying "if she responds to all emails in 15 minutes so should you". No real respect for work life balance. I was asked the week of if I could reschedule or work through a week long vacation that I had planned for months in advance. Management does not have any real concrete ways to help balance out the workloads. Regularly I would be given projects that another project manager started and wasted weeks not managing it properly which I would have to pick up the pieces and make happen in a compressed time frame. Also it looks like the positive reviews recently all happened around the same day so those might be fake reviews done by SET rather than actual employees.

Pros

Free snacks, beer, wine (what agency doesn't provide this though). Nike as their main client (if you like working for that machine, and enjoy having to bend over backwards for creative that they themselves direct you to create). Dogs are allowed in the office.

Cons

Notice how all the "Positive" reviews are as of September 22nd or so? This is because our "President" sent out a company wide email asking (begging) us to write positive reviews about the agency. Think I'm joking? Don't make me post the full email... This place only cares about one thing, their bottom line, and looking cool. But don't be fooled, your workday, crea will suck. It will be filled with frustration, minimal creative freedom, horrible project management, a complete lack of leadership, and worst of all, lip-service about how they "care" about you, and how "awesome our work is". Pfffff. The work is almost all production-based, no matter who the client is. Straight up, real talk...this place is full of fraud's, especially the top leadership and owners. The amount of amazing talent that has come thru here and left within the past 2 years is unbelievable. Why? Because they burn the best and brightest out real fast, and won't let them do what they do best.
