The support engineering team is great. My teammates are knowledgeable and supportive, so it’s easy to work with them. I’ve improved my testing and sysadmin skills. Plus, I’ve become more confident in explaining complex technical concepts to a wide range of customers. Also, I like the cross-team cooperation here. We work closely with the development, product management and sales teams to increase our efficiency.
We often have to handle really complex issues. There is always something new to learn and explore – be it a customer’s business or a system. This can be a challenge for those who aren’t quick learners or prefer laid-down work environments.

Good pay, hybrid & remote schedules available, free lunch & snacks for in-office staff
Managers & directors pay a lot of lip-service to culture & diversity initiatives, but no meaningful action behind them. C-Suite execs mainly have only marketing & sales backgrounds - no real technical chops.

I would say the pay was moderate.
My supervisor was dishonest, the company culture was problematic, and the sales tools were outdated. From day one, my supervisor made it clear that he was only interested in one thing: closing deals. He didn't care how we did it, as long as we hit our targets. This led to a lot of unethical behavior from the sales team, such as pressuring customers to buy products they didn't need and making false promises abut the product's capabilities. The company culture was also very toxic. There was a lot of backstabbing and competition among the sales team, and management was constantly putting pressure on us to perform. I felt like I was always being watched and judged, and it made it very difficult to focus on my work.2

Singlestore is a late stage startup. The database space is hard. In terms of opportunities, the right person can work on challenging problems, among a really smart group of people. Great opportunity to learn new skills quickly. Either solving low level database problems if that is what you are into, or trying to run a distributed database as a service across all three cloud providers, and all of the challenges that come with that.
Too much to do and not enough time. The workload is kind of uneven across teams with some teams busier than others. Depending on where you work, work life balance can be a struggle. But, management is pretty receptive to feedback in this area as well.1
