I have been working at SmartPractice full-time

    Pros

So many companies these days boast about how important their employees are, and the value of work/life balance. But not many practice what they preach. My company, SmartPractice, is truly unique in that they actually care. For customers and employees equally. So this is my list of why I love working here:

1 . Family owned - but a solid and professional senior management team running the show. Having worked in both public and private, not having a Board and worrying about share price, makes it easier to get things done. And since I am a doer, this environment works perfectly for me!
2 . Customer is King is our mantra, so selling and servicing customers is a joy.
3 . Committed to mission statement of wellness, which translates into fabulous benefits. And where work/life balance really is promoted and encouraged....my manager is amazing with this.
4 . And most importantly, a lot of fun. I have built so many strong coworker relationships, and I laugh a lot - that is why I love working here the most.

    Cons

SmartPractice has grown alot over the years - which has given many employees opportunities to grow based upon their skill set and initiative. But this has also resulted in the need to let some people go, who were no longer right for their job. I know these decisions have been hard for our management team, but they are also hard for employees in light of the friendships we have established. Part of running a successful business, I know.

    Advice to Management

Always keep the doors of communication open. And continue to care for us as employees as you do now....the stronger we are as a team - the more successful SmartPractice will be. And employees love working for a successful company!

I have been working at SmartPractice full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

SmartPractice is perfect right-out-of-college and retirees.
    - Managers are willing to work with you
    - Medical isn't too horrible
    - Gym on site
    - Free access to a personal trainer
    - Doctor, dermatologist, and pharmacist all on site
    - Depending on your department, you can work from home 2+ days a week

    Cons

    - Pay is below average
    - Systems are really outdated which cause a lot of system failures
    - Majority of the employees have been there for 15+ years and don't listen to suggestions.

    Advice to Management

    - If you want to be with or ahead of the market, you really need to update your systems and hire more developers.

I have been working at SmartPractice full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Everyone works as a team. Regardless of the area you work in or the position you hold everyone sees taking care of the customers as the top priority!

    Cons

Not enough hours in the day to get everything done. As with any compnay that is busy and growing time flies.

    Advice to Management

Continue to honor the open door policy you have. Many companies say they have it at SmartPractice it is true. From the managers on the front lines to the executive team there is no need to set up a meeting time. If we have a question, need ideas etc it's great that you are always available and willing to help! Thank you
