I have been working at SmartPractice full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Everyone works as a team. Regardless of the area you work in or the position you hold everyone sees taking care of the customers as the top priority!

    Cons

Not enough hours in the day to get everything done. As with any compnay that is busy and growing time flies.

    Advice to Management

Continue to honor the open door policy you have. Many companies say they have it at SmartPractice it is true. From the managers on the front lines to the executive team there is no need to set up a meeting time. If we have a question, need ideas etc it's great that you are always available and willing to help! Thank you

I worked at SmartPractice full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Nice people with relaxed environment.

    Cons

No opportunities for me to make more money so I moved on. Very hard to move around to other departments especially if your in sales. Most of the other departments pay less so you kind of stuck in sales.

I worked at SmartPractice full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Steady (low) pay. Benefits. Day to day is decently pleasant. Free access to gym. Management (for the most part) isn't terrible.

    Cons

Work is boring. Really boring. Nobody is gung-ho about working in a call-center but management can treat you like it's all you're good for. Management, especially upper management can be condescending. Pay is pretty terrible. Raises are slaps in the face. (Less than 20¢/hr)

    Advice to Management

Nothing. Nobody knows what they're doing there. It's all just managed by low tier employees who've worked there long enough to become management.

I have been working at SmartPractice full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Offers a diverse set of products and services to a variety of markets in the healthcare industry. Excellent opportunities to get involved in cross-functional teams and grow with the company. Values and supports a healthy work environment (On-site gym, treadmill workstations, ping-pong tables and employee fitness programs). Values continual education and offers tuition reimbursement for any major or educational interest. Many (but not all) positions/department allow for some working from home and flexible work schedules. Family company that has a great corporate culture and friendly workplace. Gives back to the community with a variety of corporate sponsored events(5k, charity golf outings, fund raising events) . Perfect work environment for someone that wants to work hard and get noticed/rewarded for their efforts. Covered parking. Modern and comfortable buildings and amenities.

    Cons

Compensation is slightly lower than industry averages. Systems are older and not always efficient. Matrix organizational structure is not for everyone.

I worked at SmartPractice full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

None. The company used to be a great place to work but since Curt Hamman took it over it has become a really bad work environment.

    Cons

Very low pay. They make you feel like you are not doing your job. You get blamed for errors that you had nothing to do with. They reduce the benefits every year and charge more for them. Very low raises when they are given, usually every 2 to 3 years, which are not even enough to cover the increased benefits cost and nowhere near the cost of living.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of managers who treat the employees badly and get managers who cae about the employees

I have been working at SmartPractice full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexibility in schedules and opportunities to advance in your career. Opportunities to influence various parts of the organization, not just your own. Company cares about the community and is very involved.

    Cons

    Health benefits are somewhat mediocre

I have been working at SmartPractice full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people to work for and with. Meaning they are nice to you and your workday is pretty much stress free.

    Cons

No opportunity to advance if your in sales. If you start in sales you will end in sales. Pays commission only. You are given enough customers to eek out a living barely. To make alot of money you would need to grow your account base beyond what is possible for the average sales rep.A few that have been there a very long time and were given a large base of buying customers combined with a few they have obtained over a decade working there to generate enough revenue to make any real money. Any newbies will be saddled with a small base and a low commission margin. The short of it is its to much work for to little money. You can be a dental sales rep at one of the competitors and earn a base thats equivalent to what you make at this place.

    Advice to Management

It wouldn't be taken if I gave it. The company has a slew of veteran sales reps that have been there decades and will take whatever is given them so there is no incentive for management to make things better for the staff.

I worked at SmartPractice full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

SmartHealth is a great, big company that tries hard to do right by it's employees. The CEO had the great idea to personally delivering periodic updates to the company, and as a result there was a sense of transparency and trust within the company. My co-workers diligently helped me grow from a rambunctious newbie into a professional.

    Cons

As a designer, none of the work i did was particularly creative or challenging. Most of my time was spent churning out rather generic advertisements, web pages and emails. Then again, churning out so much work on tight deadlines taught me a lot about attention to detail and good process.
