I worked at Splish Splash part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A very good place to work for a teenager. Great starting job for high school students.

    Cons

Only good for the summers. After being there for a few summers the job becomes repetitive and boring.

I worked at Splish Splash part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Management was friendly, and provided a comfortable working environment.

    Cons

    - Was constantly doing work that a manager should have been responsible, without the increased pay, and without the manager title.
    - Pay was terrible.
    - Once I turned 18 and was promoted, I was expected to work 50+ hour weeks, often times working up to 12 hours in a single day.

    Advice to Management

If you are going to ask your supervisors the work of a manager, at least give them a raise.

I worked at Splish Splash part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The biggest pro of working at Splish Splash is free access to the water park whenever you want.
The interview process is easy and fast, they hire on the spot.

    Cons

The cons of working at Splish Splash are when you come to work and then it ranins and are sent home after only an hour then get stuck in all the hamptons traffic on your way home.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to give employees discounts on food and merchandise when you are visiting the park.

I worked at Splish Splash part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the pros of working at Splish Splash water park is that this is a great place to gain the necessary work experience to be more hire able with a " higher level job". Another pro is that in the Concessions department, every workday, you are placed in a stand that sells different food items that also entitle the knowledge of different food handling procedures (ex. One day you are selling ice cream another hamburgers.) this gives the workers diverse skills in proper food handling a nd procedures. Most importantly, there is a sense of family among coworkers. Since many of the entry levels, leads, supervisors and managers are around the same age, many of our coworkers often find common interests that promote teamwork among the group. There is also strong bonds that are also formed between our superiors because of the level of nurturing that occurs working at splish splash waterpark.

    Cons

Since this is outdoor work combine with the heat of ovens, tempatures can reach 100 degrees in the stands. Making work seem grueling at times.

    Advice to Management

A good idea is to give more responcibility to 2nd years to entice the returning of trained employees to Splish Splash waterpark

"Lots of hours, hard work, low pay, but still loved it"

    Pros

Worked in aquatics. Coworkers are great, but if you're not 'in' with the right crowd, you're not going to be promoted to supervisor. Loved meeting all the ITMs, and seeing guards succeed.

    Cons

Long hours- 12-14 hour day, with only 1 45 minute break, which it's frowned on to take the full thing. You'll have 2 breaks come out of your paycheck though, and don't even think about complaining. Your summer is spent here, days off are not really days off.

    Advice to Management

Respect people's days off and a more fair promotion system. More positive comments when a guard or sup staff do something positive. More employee reviews.
