I worked at Therapy 2000 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Jerre, and the core corporate and clinical team are professional, empathetic and passionate about helping children throughout Texas in any way possible.
They invest in their Clinical Training

    Cons

As the company grows from a 'Family' atmosphere to a true 'corporate' atmosphere, much of the intrapersonal touches are going out the window.
Lack of relateability from management to other employees

    Advice to Management

Recognize your current employee's skillsets and talents, and develop career pathing options for non-clinicians.

I have been working at Therapy 2000 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Work autonomy for sales team
    - Great team statewide
    - Good base salary

    Cons

The company is falling apart from the inside. After changes in the leadership, people were being fired left and right in the name of "moving the company forward." The medicaid/healthcare market is terrible and there is no sign of it getting any better. The leadership is making quick decisions without any vision of the impact that it will have because they have no experience in this particular field.

    Advice to Management

Just because you've worked in a hospital doesn't mean you know what it's like in the field.

    Pros

I had a great experience with Therapy 2000! This company and upper manangement provide all the necessary resources for you to be successful. Therapy 2000 is an ethical home health that really puts their patients first!

As a Community Relations Rep, you will receive quarterly sales training, attainable quotas, and a company with a great brand name in Dallas/Fort Worth.

    Cons

Changes in the home health industry make it hard for you to make good money.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to your sales reps! Increase the base salary and bonuses. Karen is an awesome Regional Vice President! Hiring her was the best decision Jerre could have made for Therapy 2000!

"Great company with fantastic culture! Some growing pains, but still one of the best."

I have been working at Therapy 2000 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Highly ethical, and extremely patient-focused. Everyone who works here; from a therapist to the owner, truly cares about the patients the company treats. Therapists are given monthly/quarterly FREE training and continuing education. Many other great benefits. Company culture is a positive one, and there are solid members of the core leadership team that are steering T2K in the right direction.

    Cons

Lack of training and professional development within the office staff. Reviews rarely happen on schedule, and when they do, very little outcome or raises. Company has done away with several key parts of their pay package over the last 6-9 months. Communication and low pay are perennial areas of needed improvement, as revealed by employee survey, but no change happens.

    Advice to Management

Don't just focus on the therapists in the field when it comes to ongoing training. Business office, IT, HR, staffing and intake all can benefit from additional training and career pathing.

I have been working at Therapy 2000 full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Growing, innovative company, industry leaders, therapy owned, and almost all the managers are therapists too

    Cons

Keeping up with all the changes with the Medicaid plans is just about impossible, the electronic chart is not great, it's not very intuitive, initial evals are way time consuming, daily notes are not too bad

    Advice to Management

definitely keep investing in your employees, invest more in IT, get a better electronic chart!!

I worked at Therapy 2000 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can't think of any, at all....

    Cons

Micromanagement at its worst. The pay is not good for the work required. Pay raises are promised according to merit, yet the highest rate increase you can get is 1%. Owner (Jerre Van Der Bent) promises profit sharing at a certain date, and then goes on a two month tour of Europe and leaves the HR department to send out an email stating that no bonuses will be given due to losses within the company.

    Advice to Management

Why bother???.. It falls on deaf ears. Jerre even brings in professional consultants to interview employees and disregards all the advice given. Get a working email system and fax machines. We are in the 21st century, surely someone can figure this out.

I worked at Therapy 2000 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Highly ethical management team, good compensation, great benefits. Professional ethics and standards are supported because company ensures compliance and supports use of evidence-based therapies. Professional development is supported: Company pays dues and provides Therapists with generous access to excellent on-site CEU events. I found it gratifying to work for an employer that energetically contributes to the communities it serves, at a level that is actually philanthropic. (Owner established a foundation to benefit children with disabilities, helpful fun-days were held to benefit and entertain clients and their families, "Walks" to benefit disability groups were supported with management and staff participation, etc.)

    Cons

Management uses a carrot-and-stick strategy to stimulate staff performance and compliance. The "sticks" were fair enough. But In my experience, the "carrot" aspect was cheesy and tiresome, with a kind of game-show array of prizes for performance on such criteria as referring a new employee, or returning items in a timely manner to the library of assessment instruments and therapy materials. Pep-club atmosphere was cloying. The explicit or implied obligation to participate in all those valuable community outreach events and in employee "entertainments" felt burdensome to a person with family obligations, whose tastes don't run to activities like bowling or visiting the race track.

    Advice to Management

I think Management is managing quite well and needs no advice from me!

    Pros

The values of the company are phenomenal. High expectations, great benefits, quality of care, values employees. Very diverse company with domestic partner benefits. Progressive thinking company! So much potential for career development and enhancement.

    Cons

Some would say lots of change, but I love it! Keeps you on your toes and is representative of a progressive company.

    Advice to Management

Keep empowering the employees! Great things come from those that feel empowered!

I have been working at Therapy 2000 full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Extremely ethical! Owned and managed by therapists. Lives by it's Mission statement to "Improve Lives" and Core Values regarding "giving back," "showing integrity," "having fun," "unleashing potential," "striving for excellence," and "celebrating diversity." They are picky about who they hire and have high expectations for all of their employees. There is great education for management staff and therapists. There are great benefits. I feel very secure about working for this agency as they are proactive regarding insurance changes and are highly involved in legislative activities. There are more career advancement opportunities than I can even name. The most important thing about working for this company is knowing that above all else, caring for children and doing it right is its top priority!

    Cons

There is need for frequent change due to growth and the need to accommodate changing insurance requirements.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Continue to be mindful of middle management workloads. When change is necessary, please handle it thoughtfully and with the most efficient time frames, keeping all stakeholders in mind. .

I have been working at Therapy 2000 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent total pay package. Benefits not only include the standard medical, dental, vision, etc... but also include mentoring, wellness reimbursements (i.e. gym and massage), great mileage rates, cell phone allowance, tuition reimbursement, and most implrtantly, free quality continuing education. Teams are small, so managers are accessible. There are numerous career enrichment opportunities and a lot of room for growth and leadership.

    Cons

No cons come to mind. This is an excellent company to work for and a great team to be a part of.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the mentoring and support. Encourage your employees to grow within the company.
