Pioneers in the semantic web data integration area. Well recognized in the industry as leaders. Great innovation. Great product line. They boast some big names from the Semantic web area in their team.
This is not a good place for developers. They only have 4 very overworked developers. Because they are perpetually strapped for cash and have plenty of work, developers are stretched to the maximum and are susceptible to competing demands from different managers (and there are more supervisors/managers than developers). Chances for progress within the organization are remote. Further, if these guys don't start you off at mid-management, your job is NEVER SAFE. Their pay scales are well below the norm. The salaries listed for TopQuadrant are for developers in Silicon Valley. Compare these with other companies in the area. For example, these are about 40% below what Google pays its developers. NO wonder they seem to hire only foreign nationals as developers. This is why they are "profitable," by squeezing the most out of the developers for the least they can pay them. A last word of caution: if you relocate to join these people, make sure they reimburse you "at cost" instead of the relocation bonus. Make sure to read the fine print in the employment offer. Some nasty surprises lurk there. And remember to thank me. :-)
