I have been working at Tower Engineering full-time

    Pros

TEP is very flexible and works with me and my hectic lifestyle. Whether it is working remotely, working while traveling, or being in the office, TEP understands my needs and allows me to have a great work-life balance. The laid back culture encourages me to have fun along with motivating me to get my work done efficiently and accurately.

    Cons

If you're looking for an extremely professional and proper firm to work for, this is not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Keep having company wide events and appreciation days

I have been working at Tower Engineering full-time

    Pros

Lots of travel. Can use personal credit card so points add up quick. Laid back office environment

    Cons

IT is pathetic. Very little management. Entire company needs to be revamped to increase profitability and keep employees happy.

    Advice to Management

Treat engineers like engineers. Do not expect to keep new hires for longer than 6 months without being reasonable

Dec 11, 2017 – Director of Human Resources

Thank you for your feedback. As a company we always want to find new ways to make TEP a better place to work. Any specific suggestions on how to improve are welcomed and appreciated.

I worked at Tower Engineering full-time

    Pros

A lot of smart people work there, real relaxed work environment.

    Cons

Unorganized with a lot of turnover and no clear direction.

Thank you for the feedback. Although our turnover rate has decreased by nearly 50% this year, we are always focused on new ways to engage and retain our employees.

I have been working at Tower Engineering full-time

    Pros

Easy, laid back job for new graduates.

    Cons

Underpaid, no hazard pay, have to work under sketchy, unsafe conditions. No proper training program. You learn by making mistakes, getting yelled at, and so on.

    Advice to Management

Turnover rate is horrible. Do something about it, or keep turning over employees.

We take the safety of our employees very seriously. All climbers must complete a certified safety training program and all employees are trained in CPR and First Aid. Our dedicated Safety Manager... More

    Pros

Laid back environment, friendly and helpful coworkers, very driven and intelligent management

    Cons

Benefits and salary a bit low, young managers so upward mobility is lacking

I worked at Tower Engineering full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Casual work environment, casual dress code, good benefits and great PTO policy, friendly employees, flexible schedules, fun company

    Cons

Employees are treated like assets instead of people, management doesn't really interact with the employees, not a very transparent management style, unless you're upper management, your ideas will likely not be heard.

    Advice to Management

Talk and listen to your employees. The people that do the work on a daily basis might have some valuable insight.

I have been working at Tower Engineering full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Casual work environment, casual dress code, game room has ping pong table and video games, gym on site (but no A/C or heating in it) people are friendly, good benefit package, good for engineering students and entry level people to learn and grow , current software used, great Christmas parties, holiday events (like Halloween costume contest)

    Cons

Low pay compared to competitors; some workers aren't professional with their office behavior (manners); top management doesn't interact with employees; the noise level gets pretty high considering this open office layout houses about 100+ people with no sound barriers, so you need to be able to tune out several conversations and do your work.

    Advice to Management

Interact with employees; show employees that they are valued; control the office environment better; pay employees what they are truly worth.

I worked at Tower Engineering full-time

    Pros

The chance to meet some great people (who work for some really bad people).

    Cons

Terrible leadership. Inexperienced CFO who has great difficulty making a decision or responding to questions, and would rather spend time badmouthing others. Employees, especially in admin departments, are not treated with respect.

    Advice to Management

Get a real CFO who knows how to lead operationally and financially.

I have been working at Tower Engineering full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Relaxed work environment. There's a gym. Opportunities to travel. Opportunities to move up.

    Cons

Organizational structure is fair at best. Responsibilities within divisions vary drastically.

    Advice to Management

TEP will probably be just fine moving along on its current path, but I don't personally believe the company will reach its full potential unless an overhaul of the organizational structure occurs.
