Pros

This company has a great pension scheme and free travel for staff and their families also the people you work with on the ground become family too

Cons

The Cons to this place would take too long to list but here's some :They have rules where theres too many grey areas and this allows managers to make a decision and justify their interpetion of how they see the rule so allowing them to be always right , they also don't like feed back from staff on the ground as they seem to think the staff are trying it on with managers and what they are saying but actually they are trying to better the service and the passenger experience, Managers are always trying to tell you how you should be doing your job even though the majority of them have never done the job , The main objective of the management within translink is all big stick and no carrot with the staff and this comes from the top down where many of the senior managers are still stuck in the dark ages on how to run public transport and at what ever opportunities they get they try to lower morale instead of trying to look after staff , they also claim to look after the wellbeing of staff Not True if you have been off I'll for a long period be prepared to be disciplined for that or if your suffering a mental health issue don't expect managers to be sympathetic and try to help oh no be prepared for an excuse to get rid of you , if your up for a disciplinary remember your guilty and you have to prove your not and the company rules gives them the right to dismiss on hearsay and not produce evidence to back this up and they will go out of their way to discredit any genuine hard black and white evidence you produce as some managers have to weigh up the credibility of the person they're dealing with and not look at the real picture because of the grey areas within that they can use as their interpretation to justify their actions and get away with it

Pros

The pay is reasonably good.

Cons

The worst disconnect between management and front-line workforce I've seen. In general, an incredibly demotivated workforce. Bureaucracy and rigidity smothers creativity and, eventually, turns even the most enthusiastic employee against the Company. Terrible at retaining talent. Very little momentum for going forward.

Pros

Job Security within reason, regular health checks, pension plan, free travel for spouse, equal opportunity employer, regular employment opportunities and good advertising of these positions. supports fitness training and endorses higher education courses. place a great deal of emphasis on health and safety within the workplace. Management inform regularly on how we are performing as a company.

Cons

not always family friendly towards holiday periods, top heavy in management and clerical. no further performance reviews to indicate how we could improve our work and team practices and individual performance not enough done in interviews to ensure the right person is taking up the right position, too much family /friend involvement in job interviewing despite being told we are unbiased in that practice
