I worked at Trinity Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Trinity has been in business for a long time and has an excellent reputation. I have worked in similar jobs before, and Trinity has been the best employer by far. There are lots of opportunities and different types of jobs available. They have training and there are good people to talk to if you have problems on the job. I worked there for three years and during that time I worked at several different locations. It never gets boring. There are awards, bonuses, and benefits.

    Cons

Working with people who have problems is challenging and sometimes there are very bad days. While I was there, one person that I worked with passed away and it was very hard for all the staff.

    Advice to Management

It is very important for people who work as Independent Living Coaches to earn more money. It is very difficult to stay in the job when the rate of pay is so low. Many people love this work and the company and would like to stay longer.

    Cons

The work environment is more fend for yourself. If you can't advocate for yourself, you will be pushed to the bottom. Understaffed. low pay

    More pay and more staff

    Pros

    Great clients to work with

    Cons

The management, favoritism of employees. Listening to what people say instead of coming straight to the person their self, thats what kind of people they are, and bad communication

I worked at Trinity Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great CEO, senior leadership, and passionate people all working to help people with disabilities live full and abundant lives. Compared to other human service agencies (especially for-profit agencies), Trinity is an amazing place to work. You will find a family and a home away from home.

    Offers a multitude of services
    Room for growth
    Tuition reimbursement
    Decent health and dental benefits

    Cons

Some in senior leadership are stuck in the past while others are simply disconnected from the daily grind of their employees (but most are great).

In some cases, loyalty is seen as more important than experience or positive results.

Not great for new moms (no nursing/pumping rooms, family rooms), and minimum possible maternity leave (hopefully this has changed).

    Low pay.

    Advice to Management

Regardless of the budget crisis or if there's a pay increase for direct care workers, Trinity is behind on the many cultural changes that are taking place to address low pay and employee turnover rates. It's not enough anymore to simply offer a low salary/wage with all the added benefits of holiday parties, Lillies, kindness notes, etc.. While such added benefits are amazing and do make a difference, they don't pay for gas or food or childcare. The bottom line is that people, and many Trinity employees, are struggling and even if they love Trinity (as I still do), the cost of living continues to increase while wages remain the same. This is even an issue for people at the higher end of the pay scale. Trinity spends lots of time and resources on new employees only to lose them to other agencies that offer slightly more pay, but better work-life balance. While leadership can't please everyone, they might want to take a look in the mirror and see what can be done differently to address employment issues and the fact that Trinity is now a large agency with large agency problems and they may never be able to offer competitive pay.

To some at the top, making cultural changes may feel like pandering to a new generation that will soon come to their senses or a fad that will eventually fade away. But if you were able to implement small changes in order to retain your best talent and keep your employees happy at work and at home, wouldn't you do it? At this point, what is there to loose?

There are many good reasons to work for Trinity and like any company, Trinity has its flaws, but nothing compared to the other companies I have worked for. In hindsight, I would still recommend this agency to anyone.
