    Pros

This is a sales job, but certainly there's ample time to ramp up and get used to the process. There's good benefits, flexibility in your schedule and untapped earnings potential.

    Cons

I can't think of much, but this does have the pressure of commission sales.

I have been working at Variant Partners full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Variant Partners is an executive search firm moving into its second generation leadership. Executive search is interesting and intense. The company is well run and cares about the employees. Comp has no ceiling since it's pay for what you produce. This is a great place to work for people who are self motivated.

    Cons

The compensation plan is heavily weighted on incentives so there's a downside. This is not a great place for people who don't want to take initiative. The training is a foundation but the actual initiative has to come from the employee.

    Advice to Management

If I have something to tell the management I can tell them directly as the open communication is here. I don't need to go through some website.

I have been working at Variant Partners full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In the recruiting world, it is rare for a staffing company to be around for even a few years, but Variant Partners was started in 1970 and is still going strong today! This is because of the leadership and overall work environment.
-Training is excellent and the sky is the limit.
-Variant Partners has flex-time, which is nice to help avoid the traffic and unstable Michigan weather conditions.
-Technology is constantly upgraded and updated.
-Everyone in the office is very friendly.
-The office is located in Dominos Farms, which is a very nice building (Gym, Cafeteria, etc.).
    -Recruiting is very rewarding work.

    Cons

-This isn't really a "con", but in Recruiting - it is often necessary to work outside of regular/standard work hours in order to be successful.
-Sometimes too much time is spent analyzing data/activities/metrics, and trying to predict future performance or fix things in the past.

    Advice to Management

-Continue with the positive guidance and leadership and your employees will stick around for a long time.

I have been working at Variant Partners full-time

    Pros

    --Great work/life integration (flex hours)
--Great culture--fun, family environment. Monthly activities
--They reward and recognize individual and team success
    --Coworkers
    --Leadership

    Cons

--Not a knock on management, but rather a negative of being a smaller company--Benefit options could be better.

    Advice to Management

--Just continue to foster an environment that encourages success, and keep valuing employee's life outside of work.

    Pros

The executive team at Variant Partners are very fair, family-oriented, and diplomatic managers. They have really allowed me to grow in my position and develop a varied skill-set. The work environment is professional, collaborative and open. The management makes it a point to celebrate successes with out-of-office events and monthly employee engagement activities.

    Cons

If the office was closer to where I live and I could avoid my commute, that would be great!
