    Pros

Got to see how the newsroom and desk operated and was also able to go out into the field with extremely skilled reporters and videographers. They treat interns with a lot of respect and truly want the best out of you, willing to help with anything down to writing a script or figure out what to eat for lunch. The news director and EP are very hands on as well and the staff is great

    Cons

    none for me no none

I worked at WDIV as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is a PAID internship that also offers school credit. I loved that I got to work on a variety of projects... from working big events like America's Thanksgiving Day Parade to on-location shoots and shadowing a news reporter. I really got to know people in every department.

    Cons

It could be tough if you don't go to school in Detroit to make the commute, though I did it from Ann Arbor 3 days a week.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

If you like TV, this is a place to start and move along to bigger markets or better jobs. There are few editor jobs around that pay this well.

    Cons

    STRESS!
News department is run by people who have little regard for their employees. Lots of yelling.

It is local TV and it is on the way out

    Can be fun

    Cons

News department runs the place and they are abusive
    Engineering management is awful
    Management plays the favorites
    Immature
    Egos are out of control
People are doing jobs for which they are unqualified

    Advice to Management

You're in TV because you're incompetent to wash cars.

Incompetent people all over the place.
Uncaring. Will send you on an all day job in the hot summer sun and not provide even water!
    Filthy un-maintained building and facilities
    Company is cheap cheap cheap
Pay is low compared to peers at other TV stations

    Advice to Management
