WebFX
Mar 16, 2023 - Lead Internet Marketing Consultant in Harrisburg, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Some of the best reasons to work at WebFX include: promotions and career opportunities, very solid benefits/perks packages...healthcare hasn't gone up much if at all the last several years, flexibility with WFH and start/stop times, charity match and programs, training/leadership, lots of transparency around how the company is doing and future goals, we had a company trip to Mexico...all expenses paid and covered for 4 nights, StemFX program to mentor and teach STEM skills to local high schools, learning opportunities...we've had presentations for our company from authors like Ryan Holiday and Jon Gordon.
Cons
Some of the downsides: volume and pace of work can be challenging, you can't WFH immediately when you start...there is a training period in the office, travel to visit bigger clients doesn't always come at the best time for your schedule (if you are in a role that does that), no Macs just Windows computers, we only have an in-office barista 4 days of the week and not the full 5, parking after 9am

2nd agency I've worked at ...better experience
Jan 17, 2023 - Senior Internet Marketing StrategistRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have some background in the agency space - I interned a traditional agency and spent a couple of years at another digital agency before joining WebFX. WebFX is definitely unique, mostly in a positive way. The company is very business focused...what I mean by that is the office is quiet, hard work is encouraged, not a ton of collaboration in person, everything is tracked to the decimal point on client campaigns and employee programs. It's not a surprise that the agency is doing well and attracted investment capital. The other 2 agencies I worked at did very little of this and everything was done by random meetings and constant firefighting. WebFX has also done a good job with hiring IMO. My coworkers are all fantastic people and help bring good vibes to the office and any interactions with them. As the company as grown and expanded, the quality of the team has remained very high. The original founders and owners are still very involved with the company day to day and are transparent with any bigger changes, which I appreciate.
Cons
Some projects take longer than they should, especially ones with multiple teams involved. There needs to be an emphasis on increasing the pace. More information about employee programs that is easier to access. More documentation in general like other reviews have stated. Growing pains are evident here and there. Constant building construction and IT changes that you have to adapt to.

Pros
Caring group of coworkers and leadership...they do a lot of the big things well but also the small things. My coworkers check on me when I'm sick, send gifts for my dog, deliver me surprise coffees, bonuses/raises...it has been uplifting and a great environment for somebody like me. There are a lot of program and career opportunities here. I've been promoted several times, have clear goals and progressions, bonus opportunities. Pet desks are a favorite of mine too. There is also the charity match and FXBuilds give back program which means a lot to me.
Cons
Can't really think of anything major. Heating/cooling is inconsistent in the buildings. Workload is challenging at times like others said.

Web development team
Jan 13, 2023 - Senior Web Developer in Philadelphia, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There are wide variety of different perks and programs that a lot of the other reviews mention. Lots of good stuff depending on what you are interested in I am a little more introverted so don't really value parties and events but apprecaite things like projects, bonus programs, FX Learns program. The overall work environment is supportive and welcoming. Training and development is valued. The agency treats clients well which wasn't the case at a few others I've worked at. There also isn't a super heavy "sales culture" like other agencies I've been at where they push everybody in the company to sell hard at all times. Debated if this is a pro or con but the team is younger. Lots of energy but also learning how to be professional at times (I'm old comparatively).
Cons
The emphasis on positivity can be a little much, depending on who you interact with like some of the other reviews said. The workload is heavy at time, and can swing suddenly to be a lot. Can be hard to turn off from work for me. The office is either spooky quiet or obnoxiously loud. It is also either really hot or really cold. Bigger company now so takes longer to get communication.

Social Media Specialist

Maybe it's a great opportunity just to get some experience and then start looking for a real opportunity where you will actually be valued.
Cons
- If you want to get paid less than McDonald's average payment per hour, go for it. - You will be micromanaged by an app that takes screenshots of your laptop every 5 seconds (I am not joking). And God forgives you for being out for five minutes. - Once they decide to let you go, they will IGNORE YOU! It's weird and unprofessional, but they start ignoring you before telling you the decision. - The hiring process is ridiculous! super long, and they will make you do a lot of tests and interviews (repeating the same information all over again). Some questions that they will ask are all related to your education, like, "What was your GPA?" Why didn't you get a higher GPA? I hope it helps. I don't think companies understand how mentally exhausting it is to go through these processes and still not be valued as an employee. I still don't understand why it is a great place to work.

good company for creativity
Mar 29, 2023 - Associate CopywriterRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
the company has clear writing assignments, prompt feedback and direction, and provides a reliable amount of work for writing. i've had 3 prior copy positions and this one has been way less stressful and toxic than the others. the webfx team has clear, firm guidelines and processes for copywriting and a large amount of content types and industries
Cons
on some months, the volume of work can be challenging. some additional perks/benefits for remote writers would be nice

Caring, fun culture and strong business
Sep 16, 2022 - Digital Content ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The company cares about and invests in employees. From the office set up to training and ongoing learning to events and all of the different perks. It is a competitive but caring environment. The company wants to win and succeed but they also care and develop you as a person. It is kind of unique and hard to explain until you've worked here for a while. Team focus for everybody - we succeed together and there are lots of monthly goals and long term BHAG goals for everybody. It is a very metric focused company from the top level numbers all the way to day to day campaigns for clients. Room for growth is evident I have been promoted and gotten several strong raises in my 3 years. Overall, the work life balance is good which wasn't the case at the agency I interned for.
Cons
Sometimes it feels like the car is being driven while the engine is being put together. The pace is frenetic and processes and rollouts would be smoother if done slower and less frequently. Getting harder to meet and know people outside of your team and department now that the company is bigger and more of a hybrid model.

Fantastic Place to Grow Your Career
Jul 19, 2022 - Digital Content Specialist in Harrisburg, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Company is positioned with a really promising outlook in the next decade. Should and has been a lot of growth opportunities to those willing to work hard. Since I've joined we have seen the company grow in size, the software improve, the business thrive. - Success is reinvested into the company - regular updates to software, processes, state of the art technology so we can do the absolute best work it takes to be the best in the industry. - Leadership really tries to work with you, consider your unique strengths, and skills and is supportive and understanding. They are in your court and have supported me even when I've had to navigate stuff outside of work. - Amazing perks and programs - ongoing learning perks that have provided me with literal vacations to other countries. - We have this thing called the BHAG which is taking the whole company on a retreat, which is a really incredible experience.
Cons
- Fast paced and fast growing, so responsibilities and your role are constantly evolving. You have to be able to roll with the punches and think on your feet. - You can't stick to your comfort zone, this is mostly a perk, but they really do want to see you be the best you can be and will always be working with you to set new goals, challenges, and be honest with you if you are *sandbagging* it
