I worked at Wolf Robotics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to develop and gain experience. They take the time to develop new graduates into fully capable workers. Good culture as well. You couldn't ask for a better location for the headquarters.

    Cons

Can be a very time demanding company. The amount of travel can be really high, but this is known going into the job.

    Advice to Management

Keep remembering the people that make it all happen, big and small.

I worked at Wolf Robotics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They will pay for you to move to Colorado and they will hire just about anyone. They try to give everyone good training but it often gets cut short or eliminated for other more important things. The overtime and travel potential is great if the company is doing well but that is a very wild roller coaster. The best thing is that they will normally fly you home every weekend if you are on the road for a couple weeks.
    little to no micro managing

    Cons

They are not even close to competitive in salary because "you should be glad to have the opportunity to live in Colorado". There is next to no room to grow, all the upper management has every spot locked down for good. You WILL do crappy work and LOTS of it, the engineers get sent off on extremely long site support assignments that can last years in another state or country and you may get as little as 1 week notice that you need to move there. The hands on positions are VERY hard on the body and very mind numbing work and the deadlines are always too short so cutting corners with OSHA is a must. The overall atmosphere starts off very well but there is so much negativity in all areas of the company that it will get to the best of us after some time.
vacation maxes at 4 weeks after you work there for 10 years
Health insurance is not that great
there are really no company reviews so if anyone of a higher position ever talks to you you need to assume that was your review even if it was as minor as taking more notes

    Advice to Management

Stop recycling employees! Hiring a new Project Engineer to train for a few weeks and send them off to a far corner to fend for themselves for a year, putting the floor technicians on incredibly tight deadlines that can't be achieved without doing dangerous things, and moving people around the company because certain people don't like them needs to stop. Other automation companies pay 20% more for the same job and they are in locations where the cost of living is 50% less.

    Pros

Ability to get hands on real, tangible work. The work that you do will directly impact customers. There are also a great number of helpful, fun employees from whom you can learn a great amount of useful information.

    Cons

Intern pay is below the average for similar positions. Company morale can sometimes appear to run low, visibly affecting the employees.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in and maintain focus on employees. There are many great, talented individuals who strive to make Wolf a special place for customers and employees alike.

I worked at Wolf Robotics (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fort Collins is a great place to work and matador burritos is right next door. I liked a lot of my fellow interns a lot. Decent entry level intern experience.

    Cons

In my department interns were given a lot of busy work as opposed to helping to improve things or on a specific project. The manufacturing interns in my opinion were used in liue of actual workers in order to keep costs down. Became a big issue when there were some big projects that were late and the summer was coming to an end so they were going to run out of a significant chunk of their labor. Manufacturing floor is not air conditioned.

    Pros

Lots of hands-on experience working with robotic welding systems. Availability for training in welding, robotic programming, and various manufacturing processes.

    Cons

There are a lot of interns that work at the company, some good and some bad. Unfortunately the bad ones can overshadow the work done by the good interns. It is sometimes hard to prove to management that you are a capable intern.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest being more highly selective of interns. There were a lot of people hired on that were not very qualified or very effective workers.

I have been working at Wolf Robotics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Interesting and cutting-edge work.
    - Humane upper management with strong moral compasses. Work-life balance is superb as a result of this.
    - Tremendous value placed on employees. Training and development opportunities are limitless and fully-funded.
    - Small company, so you get to dip your feet in different things, which allows a broader growth spectrum
    - You are encouraged to do what you enjoy doing (lots of Mechanical Engineers choose to do Software Engineering simply because they enjoy it and are good at it) - your degree type doesn't limit you.

    Cons

    - One pro is also a con - it's a small company, so there are fewer advancement opportunities.
    - Compensation seems average, or slightly above, for engineers. (may not be a con for all).

I worked at Wolf Robotics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has an excellent mentoring structure and even better engineering skills. They also provide a lot of training and other forms of employee development. It is an excellent place for a young engineer to grow.

    Cons

It s a young and very talented office that while it is a great for young employee development, it may be difficult to move up within the structure.

I worked at Wolf Robotics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The employees at Wolf are excellent, smartest group of young professionals I have ever been around. Lots of ingenuity, cool products and opportunities to gain good experience.

    Cons

That being said pushing for positive change is like pulling teeth. Silos within the workplace can cause lots of extra work. There is basically no room whatsoever for career advancement within the company. Engineers can work into project management but that is basically it. No bonuses are paid even in the best of years.

I have been working at Wolf Robotics full-time

    Pros

Great company to work for. Really interesting new technology developments. Good culture and really clean manufacturing company.

    Cons

No room for growth once you are in project engineer position you tend to stay there.
