Pros

The work is interesting and saves lives. Great people to work with. Management are really supportive with limited resources and support from executive. Good job is you have a family

Cons

Executive are terrible, disconnected, heartless and don’t practice what they preach. HR treat staff terribly and create mental injury. Have to attend the office 3 days per week and this is heavily policed . Limited reward and recognition. No training and progression opportunities. Terrible change management practices Unfair recruitment practices - it’s a mates club. Majority of Roles are fixed term, so they can just get rid of you

Pros

Worthwhile cause and potential to create real impact to the lives of Victorian workers

Cons

Inability of executives to prioritise work resulting in a stretched workforce and poor outcomes. Political pressures mean the right decisions are often overlooked. Lifetimers run the business and repeat the actions of the past, despite evidence that actions aren’t effective. Bullying and rude behaviour is rife and not addressed, yet teams are forced to analyse time and time again why this feedback is repeated every year in employee engagement surveys. Planning and approval cycles take forever and condemn you to constant inaction while waiting for approval and then unrealistic goals as a result of delays. Which doesn’t matter anyway because there’s no accountability for performance, good bad or otherwise. Requirement to be in Geelong 3 days per week is prohibitive and unrealistic yet the exec team refuse to acknowledge this reality.
