    I worked at pSemi full-time

    Pros

Produce a solid product, the work is always there and you are always busy

    Cons

The departments do not work well together, there is a lot of back and forth which causes issues for the purchasing department, and there are a lot of pushing things through as a rush job because of poor planning.

    Advice to Management

Department heads should meet weekly to discuss the operations priority and the levels needed for committed orders.

I worked at pSemi full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Casual dress. Promotes a physically healthy lifestyle.

    Cons

The 2017 re-organization was rolled out incredibly poorly - probably the worst I've ever seen in industry. Major procrastination lead to decisions being made very late before the self-imposed completion deadline and as a result of a lot of indecision, the outcome was a mess. Generally re-organizations lead to some unhappy folks but this one took the cake and lead to a large amount of upper management leaving and then those under following suit out of disgust.
The re-organization was advertised to be rejoining the two halves of the company as equals but was far from that. Much of the current upper management is part of a group of folks who have never worked anywhere else and thus have not developed a sense of proper management conduct. The re-organization rollout was sufficient proof of that.

Speaking more broadly about the company, there are a lot of stressed people very concerned about "what the boss will say". Some groups did not foster an ethic of informed decision making and empowering decision-making at low levels. Trivial decisions are made at high levels because of a tendency to micro-manage and management self-importance.

There are far more politics and animosity within this company than I feel is reasonable.

    Advice to Management

Stefan, the CEO, needs to get the house in order, otherwise Murata will for him.

I have been working at pSemi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Casual dress code and working hours.

    Cons

Within the last five years there has been so much employee turnover, especially from top management. Two VP, GM's resigned and went over to one of our competitors. A VP of Product Development did the same. Our CEO stepped down to a CTO position. A PDE Director went to that same competitors of the VP, GM's. Our Marketing Director resigned. A VP of HR, HR Director and HR manager resigned and many senior level engineers resigned. We hen tlaid off many good folks as well.

    Very alarming!

    Advice to Management

Take a step back and understand why we keep losing people to our competitors. They're taking our knowledge with them, whcih simply isn't good for our company's future.

I have been working at pSemi full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A company that will be around for a long time. Good benefits, and casual dress code

    Cons

Long hours and can be a very stressful environment. Has the tendency to get very political. it seems they hire at the management level and promote based on friendships and who you know more than talent and hard work.

    Advice to Management

Hire on talent and experience vs just recommendations
Review the employees being retained vs the quality of employees going out the door

Most desks are within a "cubical farm." Not too much privacy. Need headphones to block out surrounding chatter.
