Welcome kits for Houston-area flood evacuees arriving in Austin were boxed up and taken to local shelters on Friday by AWL staffers who wanted to do something to help our fellow Texans. Dozens of individual plastic bins were filled to the brim with pillows, blankets, toiletries and other necessities to be distributed to those who have lost so much in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. We also included a note of encouragement within the bins to let these folks know that Austinites are thinking of them and want their stay in our great city to be as comfortable as possible.
The office went outside and put on our solar glasses to check out the 2017 Solar Eclipse. We feasted on Sun Chips and sipped on Capri Suns and Sol beer. The fun sun puns were out of this world!

Who says insurance can’t be fun? AWL kicked off its first-ever BYITW Week so employees could learn more about our company and save some money in the process. We figured we save others so much, why not pass that on to our valuable employees?
May the 4th was the perfect day to dress in our favorite Jedi gear and come to work ready to conquer the insurance galaxy. Theme music and movies played around the office all day. And if that wasn’t enough, we snacked on Han Salsa and Seven Leia Dip!
