Happy New Year - A message from our CEO On the first day of 2024, our CEO, Bertrand Gstalder, shared an inspiring, encouraging video message, summing up the challenges and victories of 2023 and his thoughts and vision for the year ahead. Starting with his key takeaways from his first 9 months at Acolad, he mentioned how much he enjoyed the positive vibes of the industry and the group's collaborative mindset and willingness to progress. He then talked about how the AI revolution is starting to transform the industry and how Acolad is fully committed and prepared to take on this new adventure, as well as its challenges and opportunities. Bertand then went on to highlight how transformation is progressing internally - enabling the true implementation of One Acolad and the boosting our brand's presence internationally, from the inside out, a direct result of the simplification of our internal structure with 40+ mergers in 3 years, the usage of standardized systems across the group and improved data sets and tech stack. According to him, 2024 looks bright but it will not be without its challenges, and we will still need to adapt and rethink the way we are doing things.
Acolad, the global leader in content and language solutions, just added yet another groundbreaking product to its already extensive solutions and technology portfolio – AI voice-over. The new solution ensures impactful synthetic voice-over and dubbing by combining the latest speech synthesis technology and high-quality resources.
“As a global content provider, we foresee the emergence of new types of content enhanced by GenAI, and for which efficiency will be increasingly important as well as new services. However, we do believe that human in the loop will not disappear. It will just change. The cultural, linguistic, and technological elements of global content release will further merge and it will become about those who can embrace all three to provide client value.”
Diversity comes in many languages: Sign Language workshop in Boulogne At Acolad, inclusion is one of our core values. What better way to celebrate diversity in the workplace than during the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities? That's exactly what our colleagues in France did, recognizing the week with a special Sign Language workshop. Did you know that French Sign Language (FSL) is used by roughly 100,000 French speakers in France and parts of Switzerland? While some in our offices might know how to sign a handful of words or phrases - and probably in English - it's likely many do not. That's why the Boulogne-Billancourt office held an inspiring FSL session covering the basics of how the language works. The goal of this initiative was to recognize a week that is dedicated to promoting the employment for people with disabilities in the private and public sector. And to learn some new, valuable life skills! During the hour-long session, a Sign Language teacher provided an introduction to French Sign Language including, the history of FSL, how the FSL works, a comprehensive structure of the language with the alphabet, greetings, colors and more common topics, some visual expressions and the body language that goes with them, and numerous scenarios for everyone to practice their signing! ✌️
