The Medical District Drive Rail Bridge Replacement Phase 1 is well underway! This project consists of analyzing the contract plans for the drilled shaft abutment and designing a change to use driven steel piles for Abutment 2 (Phase 1 and 2) of the rail bridge replacement project. BCC’s involvement on this project includes the redesign of the foundation and temp shoring. Take a look at how construction progresses! 👏🏻
On Saturday, February 19, members of BCC’s Miami office took part in the Annual Field Day hosted by ASCE Miami-Dade Branch at Zoo Miami. Participants and some of their kids engaged in games like mini-golf, volleyball, football, cornhole, and many more! Great time had by all! 🙌🏻

“Restoring the Glory” - BCC Engineering recently participated in the Old Seven Mile Bridge Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! The 3-mile-long segment of the Old Seven Mile Bridge consists of a historic steel structure connecting Knights Key to Pigeon Key. Years of corrosion had significantly limited the bridge’s structural integrity; as a result, FDOT partnered with Monroe County to restore the structure and provide safe access to Pigeon Key. This project added additional features to convert the bridge into a world-class scenic walkway and bicycle path. BCC provided structural project management and design services as part of a Districtwide Bridge Repair and Rehabilitation Contract. 👏🏻

Last night, a few of BCC’s finest from our Miami office attended the Joint Holiday Dinner organized by FES Miami Chapter, ASCE Miami-Dade Branch and Florida Water Environment Association - FWEA. BCC’s Joanne Prince, P.E., ENV SP, President of Miami’s FES Chapter, was instrumental in planning the event which also served to collect toys and cash for Toys For Tots which will distribute these toys to families in need for the Christmas holiday. 🎄🧸
The Osceola Parkway Mainline and Poinciana Boulevard Ramp Toll Facility Project involves necessary infrastructure modifications to support the All-Electronic Tolling (AET) conversion and the deployment of ITS systems along Osceola Parkway. BCC’s TEO scope includes Design Project Management, Signing and Pavement Marking, ITS, and Tolling. 🙌🏻
