In prior years, Blockchains did not employ a work from home policy. Given the circumstances with COVID-19, we were fortunate to maintain our operations while allowing employees to work from home. We now realize how great it is and offer flexible work from home options, which will continue in a hybrid form, post-COVID-19.
In a recent survey sent to employees, a company benefit employees said they would really appreciate is a 401(k) plan. In response to that request, the company now has a 401(k) plan with both Traditional and Roth options available. We understand how important saving for your retirement is and we want our employees to be able to save as early as possible to plan for their future.
We kept hearing from staff that they wanted to be more "in the know"; so, we began hosting monthly Town Halls for the purpose of keeping employees informed on product developments and what different departments are working on. Additionally, employees are encouraged to ask questions and give shout outs to their fellow Blockstars through our PROPS program (Positive Recognition of Peer Success). We celebrate employees' anniversaries, birthdays, and milestones met at these Town Halls and often, we'll engage in a team building or core values activity. Then, it's to the cafe for a company-hosted lunch :)
We can't build a decentralized future and change the world on an empty stomach. At Blockchains, we have catered lunches on Mondays and Fridays. These lunches are a great opportunity for our Blockstars to get together. And after lunch, we find that we're more engaged, productive, and energetic!
April is Stress Awareness Month. At Blockchains, we offer twice-weekly Pilates classes as part of our workplace well-being program. Changing the world is a huge task, so we believe our team members have to take good care of themselves!
After reviewing valuable employee feedback, Blockchains is excited to announce we have expanded our benefits package. We strive to provide our employees with the resources and support to succeed not only professionally but also personally. Our revamped benefits package represents one of the various ways we hope to improve our employees’ lives. Below is a snapshot of our new offerings: —Employees pay nothing for employee-only healthcare, dental, and vision coverage premiums and half for dependent coverage. —For their first 2 years of employment, employees receive 2 weeks of paid time off. Employees who have worked for the company for 2-4 years receive 3 weeks, while those who have worked 4 or more years receive 4 weeks. —In addition to the 6 recognized paid holidays we already offered, Blockchains has added 3 more, including the day after Thanksgiving and two floating holidays to be used at the employee’s discretion.
