Cloudforce recently welcomed business development, community, and higher-ed leaders for a thinking and defining session to help frame the needs, requirements, and goals to make Prince George’s County a top destination for employers and talent in the technology sector. Participants joined to discuss such vital subjects as the best way forward to advocate for legislation encouraging participation in all facets of emerging technology, and for encouraging students to stay local through internships and other career opportunities.
Recently, the Cloudforce team has been deeply inspired by its work with technology leaders in the higher-ed space – to bring better outcomes to students through best of breed technology – made accessible through the power of the Microsoft cloud. After witnessing some unfortunate realities that most technology teams in higher-ed face, Cloudforce President/ CTO Husein Sharaf demonstrates, in Forbes, how the power of cloud offers educational institutions a potential secret weapon to battle: ⚔️Limited budgets ⚔️Aging infrastructure ⚔️High employee turnover ⚔️A highly vulnerable attack surface Read on to learn how the democratization of technology in the cloud is enabling a brighter outlook for the next generation of graduates. 🎓 https://lnkd.in/eKSct8PU
👩🏫 This summer, National Harbor’s Cloudforce launched its innovative Future Force initiative to promote the exposure of local talent in the emerging cloud computing technology sector. The Future Force weekend workshop series offered 20 qualified local high school seniors a wide range of proprietary workshops, plus front row attendance at an expert panel discussion on the reality of opportunities and expectations to advance in the tech sector. Attendees were also invited to participate in a competition showcasing their idea on how to use cloud technology to solve a pressing social need. A close second to the service and workplace excellence Cloudforce strives for everyday is our focus on giving back to fortify our community in every way possible. As a Foundational Sponsor at next week’s 18th Annual Youth & Real Estate Event fundraiser benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America of Greater Washington, DC (BGCGW), Cloudforce proudly supports efforts to provide computer equipment to BGCGW Club learning labs. “Technology is the great equalizer of our time, and Cloudforce is committed to democratizing that dream for the underrepresented youth in Prince George’s and the greater DC-metro region,” said Cloudforce President and CTO, Husein Sharaf. Cloudforce’s support to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington follows its recent launch in June 2022 of the Future Force initiative. This targeted program seeks to provide opportunities for aspiring students and technology enthusiasts to engage in the field of cloud computing by educating them adequately about opportunities and careers in emerging technology.

On Sunday, October 23, Cloudforce joined forces with the Microsoft National Capital Area (BAM NCA) chapter for its annual BAM NCA Family 5K Walk, Jog, Run. This event benefits multiple designated charities including the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and several Microsoft-sponsored scholarship funds. 22 participants, including employees of both groups, their families, and friends, embarked from Cloudforce's National Harbor headquarters to the crest of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and back. Afterwards, Cloudforce hosted all with light refreshments at its office. Others unable to participate in person were invited to participate virtually by donating online and running their own race. "It was compelling to see Cloudforce's partnership with Microsoft span not only the amazing technologies on which we work day-to-day, but also our shared passion for giving back to the communities in which we serve. Thanks to both Microsoft's BAM leadership team, as well as my running buddy, Clive, for helping to drive the pace forward," said Cloudforce Director of Programs Jesse Kellner.
