In collaboration with The Engineering Society of Detroit, employees at our North American headquarters in Southfield, MI and in Maryville, TN hosted 30 students from the Girls in Engineering Academy on a virtual tour. After hearing from a cross functional group of female engineers, students showed off their skills by presenting a special mobility challenge. We pride ourselves on having #DENSOspirit and stepping up to whatever challenge is thrown our way. When COVID-19 derailed our employees during their skilled trades apprenticeship, instead of giving up, they said “failure is not an option.” Despite the challenges, they creatively and successfully completed their project to build troubleshooting machines. One has already been field tested at our #MaryvilleTN facility. Congrats to these employees who, after two years of training, will return to their home department for a year of on-the-job training before graduating and continuing to build their careers. #DENSOspirit
