Our team is kicking off #WomensHistoryMonth on a high note: Hannah Pearl, an industrial #engineer at our thermal facility in #BattleCreekMI, has earned a Women MAKE Award in the Emerging Leader category from The Manufacturing Institute - MI! Since joining #DENSO as an intern, she has continuously made her mark -- supporting #LeanManufacturing activities, improving safety, introducing a mentorship program and chairing the DENSO Women's Network. She's also involved in various fundraising and #STEM efforts locally. https://bit.ly/3J3TeWR Congrats to Hannah. We thank her and all women at DENSO who make important contributions to our teams and the places we call home. #WeAreDENSO
Thanks to local historian Kevin Ailes, we recently learned that the location of our thermal manufacturing facility in #BattleCreekMI was once home to 19th-century abolitionist and women’s rights activist Sojourner Truth. To commemorate this finding, our #DENSO teammates, members of our DENSO Black Resource Network, Representative Jim Haadsma and District Representative Ben McCloud for Rep. Bill Huizenga's office gathered to honor the accomplishments of this trailblazer and her many contributions to human rights and American history. https://bit.ly/3J1JtIL
Celebrating all month long, the #DENSO African Ancestry Network in #SouthfieldMI wrapped up #BlackHistoryMonth festivities with hustle lessons and by joining the Ford Motor Company African Ancestry Network at their annual gala, where the focus was Black resilience, creating connection and recognizing community member accomplishments. Thank you to all those who helped create these opportunities to learn, honor and celebrate! #WeAreDENSO
With each transition in his #DENSO #career journey, Jonathan Ng has relied on his natural curiosity, along with mentors and coworkers he’s met along the way. “I see things as black or white, I don’t like gray areas, so when something isn’t clear, I ask a lot of questions.” Those questions have served him well as he's gone from being an architect before DENSO to #ProductManagement and #CorporatePlanning roles at DENSO Auto Parts in #LongBeachCA. As we continue to celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth, this week members of our #DENSO African Ancestry Network in #SouthfieldMI visited the #TuskegeeAirmen National Historical Museum in Detroit. 🛫 There, our teammates not only got to learn more about the pilots' struggles, perseverance and heroics, but also heard directly from a member of the historic group, Lt. Colonel Harry Stewart. We're grateful to Mr. Stewart, the museum and our team for a great event. #WeAreDENSO
It's not just one #DENSO group or location that contributes to our Two Great Causes, #Green and #PeaceOfMind. It's everyone. And that includes Jon Canty and our entire North America #Legal team. They play critical roles in #IP and #data issues and help teams navigate complex legal landscapes in areas like #autonomousdriving and urban air #mobility. Vanguard Law Magazine has more on Jon's path and how the team helps push DENSO forward: https://bit.ly/3I6SUGi #WeAreDENSO
Jobs at #DENSO put you in the driver's seat to advance your #career. And with mentorship built into your journey, we aim to help everyone go the extra mile. Katie Walters, an 18-year team member in #MaryvilleTN, says so in her own words: "I’ve had really great leaders who have given me lots of advice and coaching. ... They pushed me to be brave and supported me along the way.” Her talent and drive, paired with her focus on continuous learning, are why she is now a director of #SupplyChain Management and Logistics. #BlackHistoryMonth, with its traditions dating back to the 1920s and Dr. Carter G. Woodson's efforts to recognize Black contributions to society, is a time to reflect, but also celebrate. An opportunity to look back, but also forward. This month, our teams and locations will do this in their own unique ways, honoring Black trailblazers and Black excellence, while also striving to spark change for the better. It's part of our continuous efforts to create inclusive spaces where people of all backgrounds feel welcome, valued and a sense of belonging. Our #BattleCreekMI team continues to look ahead. 🔭 In our most recent 2030 Showcase, team members discussed how we all contribute to our #carbonneutral goals, learned about our latest #manufacturing #tech and had the opportunity to meet a new coworker -- location President and North America Thermal Manufacturing Leader Shuichi Kamakura. 🤝 #WeAreDENSO #WeLoveOurPeople #Green #PeaceOfMind #Automotive
