With this in mind, Mental Health Awareness Week this year is raising awareness around the impact of loneliness on our mental health and the practical steps we can take to address it. For us it's so important that we create an environment which welcomes closeness and nourishes our relationships. This is why all our Babus are fully trained in mental health first aid. Meaning they can spot the signs of mental health issues, know how to approach people experiencing difficulties and handle these conversations with care. We also have Here to Help - a direct line to the senior team which is open to all. And now, we are thrilled to introduce the Calm app as our newest team benefit. Calm is an absolutely incredible platform offering a diverse library of content, from guided meditations and specialised music playlists and much more!

I also believe that in bringing our stories here, they become British stories. Bombay coming to London (as London once came to Bombay). Immigration can bring so much richness and delight, and I emphatically believe that this strengthens the idea of Britishness, as I think it has done for centuries. And I’m delighted if Dishoom can help bring some of that richness here whether through our food or our stories."
Magic Breakfast – Magic Makers We began working with Magic Breakfast in 2015, supporting them in their goal of ending hunger as a barrier to education in the UK. Over the years, we’ve developed lasting and loyal friendships with the incredible team and their partner schools. We usually host an annual Magic Breakfast Takeover in one of the cafés where we close to our usual morning patrons and host as many partner schools as we can. The morning is always filled with lots of activities – games, cooking and, of course, eating. Though unfortunately, we haven’t been able to host such an event since 2019 (for obvious reasons), this December we were lucky enough to be invited to visit a few schools that our lovely friends over at Magic Breakfast are partnered with. It was a true inspiration to see how the Breakfast Clubs are run, meet the dedicated teachers and the wonderful children that join them to start their mornings with positive intention through exercise, playing, activities and breakfast. We simply can not wait to be doing more with our firends soon!

Looking after our teams is so important to us, so it means the world to be recognised for Employee Engagement, Employee Wellbeing, and Skills and Development. Huge thanks to the kind folks over at the Caterer for honouring us with these awards. And, of course, to our incredible team who work so hard to make Dishoom a wonderful place each and every day.
Early last year, we reached a monumental milestone of donating 10 Million Meals to children in the UK and India who might otherwise go hungry. We are so proud to have now donated 11 Million Meals (and counting)! This has all been made possible because of our incredible team and the work they do each and every day and of course, because of the outstanding work of our long term charity partners and friends, Magic Breakfast in the UK and The Akshaya Patra Foundation UK in India. A huge and heartfelt thanks for everything you do and for allowing us to continue this vital work.
