Our Sporting Champions scheme supports talented athletes across the UK by providing the resources they need to reach their full potential. Sporting Champions receive free access to Everyone Active training facilities across the country, as well as the opportunity to take part in mentoring events, alongside some of the UK’s most influential sports superstars, filled with useful advice and networking opportunities. New for this year, athletes will be invited to practical workshop sessions which cover vital aspects of an athlete’s physicality, relating to their chosen discipline. These sessions enable attendees to put expert advice into practice, with the opportunity to see if they can improve their PBs later in the year. By nurturing and empowering athletes, Sporting Champions fosters an environment where talent can thrive, inspiring future sporting success and encouraging wider community participation in physical activity. This initiative reflects Everyone Active’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and sporting excellence.

We are delighted to share that Everyone Active has become members of the Sunflower network. Making sport accessible for everyone is really important to maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle. And so customers and colleagues who visit and work at any of our220 centres can choose to wear the Sunflower to discreetly indicate that they may require help, time or kindness. Making our business Sunflower-friendly opens the doors to customers with disabilities, while also supporting our colleagues #DisabilityInclusion
We were delighted to welcome Sarah Merrill, a specialist dementia nurse with our charity partner Dementia UK, to Enderby Leisure and Golf Centre. Dementia UK’s specialist nurses, called Admiral Nurses, offer life-changing support to families facing dementia – in communities, hospitals and hospices, on the free national Dementia Helpline, and in virtual clinics. It was brilliant to gain insight from Admiral Nurse Sarah and look at how our facilities can continue to provide an inclusive and safe space for families affected by dementia. Throughout our partnership with Dementia UK, we will be working together to educate our colleagues and members about the condition and the positive impact that being active can have on people living with dementia and their families.
What a day! Then this comes through! Proud, excited, and humbled is an understatement. About 4 weeks ago I sent a video out to see if you guys felt I was worthy enough of a nomination for the influencer award at the Active Lincolnshire Annual Awards Evening. The result being some amazing responses, leading to the announcement I'm 1 of 3 finalists for the 'Influencer Award'. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for me, I'm so grateful and fingers crossed for the evening. To be honest I'm happy with the outcome so far, and really pleased to be amongst people who are doing amazing things in our communities. Thank you Active Lincolnshire and really looking forward to an amazing event. Will keep you informed of the result on the 3rd November. Chris Duncan
