An appreciation for natural stone Some would say that the appreciation of natural stone is in the Francini blood. Andrea Francini was born and raised in Massa Carrara, Italy, and grew up surrounded by the white marble mountains of Carrara. He is a product of generations of the Francini family who have lived in this region, the capital of the world for white marble. At age 14, Andrea’s parents moved the family to London to give him and his brothers the opportunity to learn English and finish their studies. Andrea attended The London School of Economics where he obtained a business degree. Meanwhile, Andrea’s father, Franco Francini, was in Los Angeles making a name for himself at International Granite & Marble, where Andrea would eventually join him. Having established himself in the industry, Andrea opened Francini Inc. in 1996 and has since expanded to eight locations with many more on the horizon. With offices in Italy, India and Brazil, he has put together a world-class team of inspectors and buyers, while also traveling the world in search of new quarries.
