We held our FutureLearn Partner Forum last Thursday; the first forum held in-person for over two and a half years 😮 We hosted sessions about our company strategy, value propositions, enterprise and new content platform. We also heard directly from our partners through a lightning talk series, and from our learners through some inspiring stories. 💬 'What a momentous occasion to have so many of our partners in attendance, and in real life too! I was thrilled to see such clear anticipation and excitement for what’s coming next - a fantastic Partner Forum all round!’ Andy Hancock, FutureLearn CEO NEXT UP 🚀: Our APAC Partner Forum is taking place this Wednesday 20th July, featuring content tailored to the region from some great partners and industry experts. #ThisIsFutureLearning #2022PartnerForum #EdTech
Earlier this year, we participated in the Mind Workplace Wellbeing survey. We’re proud to announce that FutureLearn was given the Silver Award for ‘Achieving Impact,’ which means we’ve been recognised as making demonstrable progress and impacts in key areas. Supporting good mental health in the workplace really matters to us, so stepping up from Bronze to Silver is a significant milestone in indicating we’re going in the right direction. #mentalhealth #wellbeing #workplacewellbeing #mentalhealthmatters
Earlier this month, we hosted a Queer Themed Movie Night at FutureLearn HQ to celebrate Pride Month. In further celebrations, our colleagues Connie and Aleks hosted a round of Lightning Talks covering an eclectic range of LGBTQIA+ topics: 🏳️🌈 Archbishop Desmond Tutu 🏳️🌈 Pride in Cape Town 🏳️🌈 POSE 🏳️🌈 A brief history of Sydney Mardi Gras 🏳️🌈 Saint Derek - about Derek Jarman 🏳️🌈 Queer Computing 🏳️🌈 The Stonewall Uprising and why it's important 🏳️🌈 What Pride is and why we still need it Not only were the talks informative for all who attended, but they were really poignant and emotive. A heartfelt shout out to our presenters and to all who attended! And lastly, we wanted to share that Draego Zubiri (a FutureLearner and co-LGBTQIA+ Champion) was fortunate enough to attend the world’s largest parade: São Paulo Pride. Go Draego! 🏳️🌈
Last week, we hosted our FutureLearn Summer Party at Swingers - the crazy golf club - West End! Anticipation and excitement was in the air for the epic crazy golf, street food and drinks - but, most importantly, FutureLearners socialising and connecting with their colleagues was simply the best. 📢 Let's hear it for connecting face-to-face with our colleagues again! #ThisIsFutureLearning #togetheragain
In celebration of Pride month 🏳️🌈, a number of our FutureLearners got together for a Queer Themed Movie Night last Thursday 🎥 @Connie, one of our @FutureLearn LGBTQ+ Champions, was really pleased to co-host the event, “It's important to celebrate those that fought for the LGBTQ+ rights we have today. Most notably - to draw strength from their experiences, providing much needed communal healing within the LGBTQ+ community, and all marginalised communities! We're so grateful to @Marsha P. Johnson, a trans woman of colour, for starting the struggle. We're also grateful to FutureLearn for encouraging us to go through the healing by watching Marsha’s film together, ‘The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson’.” #pridemonth #pride #lgbtq+ #lgbtq+awareness #ThisIsFutureLearning
We launched our Stepping Up company strategy in March, and a short while ago we opened our brand new FutureLearn HQ for Hybrid working! Check out some of our FutureLearners enjoying our new workspace already. Our colleagues have clearly missed the benefits of in-person connection and collaboration, one colleague summed it up brilliantly: “The new office is a lovely light space and its been great to work with people face to face again! It’s amazing what you can pick up from colleagues in an office environment that gets missed in a virtual way of working!" Coffee machine catch-ups, lightbulb moments and off-the-cuff ideas are a go! #ThisIsFutureLearning #newofficeopening #newofficespace
Last week, we shared how important it is to not only raise awareness about mental health, but to take action too. We’re really pleased to announce that our FutureLearn colleagues raised £1,558 at an internal Promises Auction held for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Generous bids came in thick and fast for 30 donated lots which included: 🎾 A ticket to Wimbledon 🇨🇦 A Canadian treat box 🥻 A beautiful Sari 🌊 A 1-2-1 paddle boarding lesson in Cornwall The total amount of £1,558 will be donated to two very active charities, Mind and YoungMinds, who work tirelessly to drive greater understanding and better support for people experiencing mental health related issues. Our colleagues had a lot of fun at the event, but we want to spotlight how proud we are that everyone came together for such an important issue that touches so many of us. Mental Health matters this week, and every week.

He hopes to take further action through training in cyber security. 🍎 Our Teaching Scholar: Nelly Porseva We’ll always be inspired by a passion for education, and Nelly stood out with her commitment to teaching peacebuilding practices.
