Three years ago, our Corporate EHS Manager, Renee, led a safety meeting that left a lasting impact on our organization. As everyone entered the meeting room, they received a puzzle piece. At the end of the meeting, Renee explained: I bet you're all wondering why I gave you puzzle pieces. The reason is simple: Hoffmaster is not just a workplace; it's a team where we rely on one another to do our best. Just like each puzzle piece fits perfectly to complete the whole picture, we need each other to succeed in our respective roles. Your safety is not just about yourselves—it's about protecting the team's collective strength. If one of us gets injured, everyone feels the loss. Fast forward three years, and one of our engineers is retiring from the team. During his goodbye, he hands Renee something —a puzzle piece. He then told her that this puzzle piece came with him to work every day for the last three years since she had handed them out at that meeting. Every morning he'd put it in his pocket, using it as a personal reminder... read more on LinkedIn

Exit interviews are great way to learn about your company's brand and your employee's perspective. A long-time employee emailed this as a follow-up to her exit interview: "Additional things I enjoyed and appreciated at Hoffmaster: fitness reimbursements and other physical and mental health perks, complimentary life coaching, Percipo database with courses for personal and professional development, partial reimbursement for accelerated schooling, opportunities to change positions or departments and yearly merit increases, company paid design and packaging conferences, company paid travel to meetings out of state and country, fun committee events, company service events, many coworkers who were fun, kind and encouraging, many managers who led well, opportunities to work on other accounts...WFH opportunities a few days a week and flextime for appointments." Comments like this let us know what employee's appreciate and guide us in future decisions. We care about our employees and love to see them thrive; even if that means moving on to another opportunity or season of life.
"Volunteering with my coworkers at COTS was a truly rewarding experience. It was amazing to see how just a few hours of our time could make such a difference in the community. It's inspiring to see the positive impact we can make when we come together and give back." -Anne-Marie Yesterday we participated with Oshkosh Area United Way for the 26th annual Day of Caring. We had a welcome breakfast with over 150 volunteers from various organizations in Oshkosh, where our very own Scott talked about his experience volunteering last year. Then we met up with John from COTS and were able to paint three bedrooms for new residents! HGI offers employees 8 hours of paid time off for volunteering annually; it's another way we support our employees and our communities. We're grateful for our helpful employees and for the opportunity to give back to our community.

Congratulations team on producing such a great product that led to this collaboration with Noodles & Company.
