Dr. Fred Edward Lytle Named AAAS 2016 Fellow 3/16/2017 Fred Edward Lytle, Corporate Fellow at Indigo BioAutomation, has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Election as an AAAS Fellow is an honor bestowed upon members by their peers. The tradition of AAAS Fellows has existed since 1874. This year’s Fellows were formally inducted at a mid-February Association meeting. Lytle was selected for making distinguished contributions to the field of analytical chemistry, particularly the use of picosecond lasers for time-resolved and two-photon excited molecular fluorescence. He did this work during his tenure at Purdue University where he was a member of the chemistry faculty before retiring in 2008. While at Purdue he received numerous teaching awards including the 1996 Indiana Professor of the Year. He is a nationally recognized scholar receiving the 1986 American Chemical Society Division of Analytical Chemistry Award in Chemical Instrumentation and the 1988 American Chemical Society Award in Analytical Chemistry.
