Indusface announced the appointment of seasoned cybersecurity expert Tanuj Gulati to its Board. Tanuj's appointment comes at a time when the company has announced its US office headquarters in Dallas. Venkatesh Sundar, Founder, will now lead the US expansion. Last year, he had relocated to Dallas, Texas. Tanuj has over 20 years of experience in starting and operating cybersecurity companies to market-leading success. He co-founded Securonix, a company that pioneered User and Entity Behaviour Analytics (UEBA) and is an established leader in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) category. As the CTO of Securonix, Tanuj released multiple market-leading products and led the company to over $100 million ARR and over a billion-dollar valuation. Indusface has found over 1.6 billion cyberattacks in India in the second quarter ended September 30, 2023, showing an increase of 70 per cent over the previous quarter. “All of the healthcare sites and over 90 per cent of banking and insurance sites witnessed a bot attack during the quarter,” it said in a report on cyberattacks in the quarter. There is a huge surge in DDoS attacks too. The report found that DDoS attacks were carried out from 8 million unique IPs for 14 days. The DDoS attack traffic ranged from 3,000-14,000 times more than the usual daily traffic on the target sites,” he said. A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is an attack where cybercriminals significantly increase traffic to the target website using an army of the compromised computers in order to deny service to the regular visitors to a site. This makes the website unavailable to the user, causing losses to the service provider.
Indusface has announced the release of a rapid security compliance solution, SwyftComply. The solution will enable security leaders to provide a clean, zero-vulnerability report for compliance within 72 hours, the company said. Developers are increasingly adopting the agile methodology and incorporating free and open-source software. This leads to more open vulnerabilities, many of which cannot be protected on time as the patch is not readily available. According to studies by Indusface, 31% of vulnerabilities remained open even after 180 days. In such a case, providing a clean report during security audits is a major challenge for security teams. SwyftComply will help security teams shrink the windows of vulnerability from more than 180 days to three days, Indusface said.
