1st September 2025 - Bain Capital to Acquire Jensten Group - Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Jensten Group (“Jensten”), a UK-based commercial insurance distribution platform, from Livingbridge, one of the UK’s leading mid-market private equity investors. The investment is being made by the dedicated insurance investing platform of Bain Capital. Founded in 1986, Jensten has evolved into a diversified insurance distribution platform serving small and medium-sized enterprises across the UK. The company operates across retail, wholesale, and managing general agent segments, and has completed 37 acquisitions to date, including 14 from its own franchise network. Bain Capital will partner closely with Jensten’s management team to invest in sales and distribution, technology and operations to further enhance the company’s client service offering and drive margin expansion. The plan also includes a continuation of its successful M&A strategy focused on building out its regional operating footprint throughout the UK. Jensten has now completed the acquisition of East Anglia-based One Broker Group, following approval from the FCA. Its largest acquisition to date, the deal provides Jensten with a significant new regional centre of excellence in East Anglia, featuring offices in Norwich and Cambridge. It brings 115 staff and £60m GWP to the business. Jensten has achieved substantial growth over the past two years through a number of strategic acquisitions, a fundamental part of its strategy to establish and grow specialist and regional centres of excellence. The business recently announced the expansion of its Yorkshire region with the acquisition of White Rose Insurance Solutions. Following the successful acquisition of One Broker, Jensten will continue to invest in growing its presence in East Anglia, both organically and through acquisition, with further deals in the region to be announced imminently. Jensten has acquired the business of White Rose Insurance Solutions in a deal which sees its regional centre of excellence in Yorkshire & Humberside grow with additional offices and teams. White Rose has established itself as the local broker of choice for commercial and private clients across North Yorkshire and provides a high-quality, traditional insurance service to the communities it serves, with offices in Skipton and Settle. The business also trades as South Lakes Insurance Solutions from its office in Kendal. The Jensten Group has appointed Steve Folkard as Group Risk and Compliance Director, effective 1st December 2021. Steve will be responsible for leading the risk and compliance team across the rapidly expanding Jensten Group portfolio. Under Steve’s direction the team will be focused on delivering best in class support to the Group’s franchised and non-franchised broking operations, as well as its wholesale broking and underwriting businesses. His appointment follows a period of rapid growth for the Jensten Group at a time of significant regulatory change across the insurance market. Steve, who has over 30 years’ insurance and consultancy experience, joins from the BGL Group where he was Group Compliance Director. Prior to this he was a Director at PWC leading the conduct and compliance team across both wholesale and retail UK insurance markets. The Jensten Group has appointed Lauren Barwell as Group People Director, effective 31st January 2022. Lauren joins from Octopus Investments and previously held senior roles at RSA. Lauren will lead the human resources team and oversee the implementation of the Jensten Group Employee Value Proposition, and the key people-centric elements of the Group’s growth strategy. The commitment to people and customers is at the forefront of everything the Group is doing, and this new role is crucial to enabling the strategy. Sonia joined Policyfast fresh out of school in 2013 as a Trainee Account Handler. She quickly showed her worth and by 2015, was promoted to Operations and Development Assistant. In 2016, Sonia moved to the Products team to gain valuable experience in building product specifications before moving to our City Underwriters team as an Underwriter at the end of the year. Here, Sonia gained valued experience as an Underwriter within niche products lines in the London Market and, in 2018, when our Jensten Delegated Authority Team was born, Sonia was approached to join them as an Operational Underwriter. In 2020, Sonia was promoted to Operational Underwriting Manager. During this period Sonia has also completed both her Cert CII and DIP CII qualifications. Sonia was nominated for the national Rising Star of the Year award 2021, which she successfully won in June 2021. Later on in 2021 she was accepted onto the New Generation programme through the CII, where she and 9 other cohorts within the UK embarked on a 12 month programme to work on and deliver an insurance specific topic to the CII b
