Remote working certainly had its challenges, more so for global teams like ours. Luckily, through technology, we were able to bridge the gaps and continue the spirit of collaboration. The current Russia/Ukraine conflict is devastating, and our thoughts go out to our colleagues with family and friends in the region. To show our support for those caught in the conflict, we are making a donation to the World Central Kitchen, an organization that is currently on the ground in the combat areas, providing meals and support to citizens that are fleeing, as well as those that remain in Ukraine. We are proud to support an organization making an immediate impact on affected individuals and communities. Venerating our ancestors helps us preserve traditions, bond generations, and ease the grief of the loss of our loved ones. These values are at the center of the Qing Ming festival. The Qing Ming Festival is a traditional festival celebrated by Chinese communities around the world. During Qing Ming, Chinese families visit the tombs of their ancestors to clean the gravesites, pray to their ancestors, and make ritual offerings. In some cases, a family will burn spirit money and paper replicas of material goods such as cars, homes, phones and paper servants as they believe that their departed loved ones will need these in the afterlife.
Traditionally, Chinese New Year celebrations include fireworks, red clothes, and giving money in red envelopes. Some may choose to visit relatives, prepare special foods, or enjoy watching a dragon parade.
