Jessica’s poster, “Development and optimization of a quantitative assay for an investigational anti-malarial monoclonal antibody drug candidate in human whole blood using volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS),” showcases innovative work aimed at improving access to life-saving therapies in resource-limited settings. Her research demonstrated how VAMS enables accurate, regulatory-compliant analysis from low-volume, fingerstick blood samples, providing a practical solution for clinical trials where traditional blood draws may not be feasible. KCAS is pleased to announce that the Kansas City Business Journal has selected us as one of its Champions of Business for 2023 in the metro Kansas City area. Some of the achievements which contributed to being named a Champion of Business include: - Expanded in our modern modalities by acquiring two companies that expand our ability to develop drugs in today’s modern pipeline. - Invested in our own infrastructure and operational excellence with two brand new buildings amounting to almost 100,000 square feet of modern lab and research space. - Broadened our product and service line by starting up a cell and gene therapy line, updated our dose form, and gained depth in instrumentation with 26 new mass spectrometers. - Involved in the Kansas City community by our membership on key boards within the metro area, by recruiting from local universities, and supporting the volunteer efforts of our employees with paid time off to volunteer. - Attracted and retained key talent with an investment in our people’s development and wellness.
We had quite a year at KCAS in 2022 focused on building high-value employee experiences. A few highlights: New KCAS Headquarters - Completed the construction of our new space, designed explicitly for our purposes, with 70,000 square feet of graduated sterile labs and collaborative learning space, an adjoining nature trail, and bicycles. Wellness Collective - Launched a program with resources to empower a healthy lifestyle, with programming in the areas of physical, mental and financial wellbeing. KCAS University - Launched an entire ecosystem of learning programs to onboard new hires, help employees with technical training, and empower our people to advance in their careers with leadership development. Employee Socials - Continued our tradition of social events with over 50 events such as Family Day, food trucks, and various holiday celebrations. New Companies - Honored to welcome employees from FlowMetric and BioAgilytix into our KCAS family.
