Cancer has touched all of us in some way. Recently Lighthouse employees came together to honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who selflessly help others. As a team, we decided to take action and get involved by giving back. The America Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event on June 8 was quickly approaching and a great fit, as it would allow all of our global employees to participate from anywhere by donating, walking, or both. With the event and charity selected, we set out to achieve two goals – raise $25,000 in support of the American Cancer Society and walk for 24 hours straight in solidarity for Relay for Life. Curious if we were able to reach our goals? Recently, the philanthropic committee at Lighthouse, Lighthouse Cares, was inspired by Review Solutions Associate, Cassie Lesh, to host a national Drive for People Experiencing Homelessness Drive. We hosted donation drives in the Seattle, San Francisco, and New York Offices, where individuals across the company could either donate items or donate their time to help pack supply bags and then hand them out to those in need. In all, the drive allowed the Lighthouse team to fill over 230 one-gallon Ziploc bags stuffed to the brim with toiletries, snacks, clothing items, and other daily necessities. In addition to having tons of employees purchase items off an Amazon Wishlist or bring in donations, we saw many folks donate their time to pack and deliver these care packages. At Lighthouse, we are proud of the commitment our people make to improving lives and helping to support and care for our local communities.
