Despite a pandemic spreading around the world, Markit's annual sales increased by 9.4%, from EUR 112.1 million in 2019 to 122.6 in 2020. 2020 Financial performance In short, 2020 was an excellent opportunity to continue helping old and new clients, even as markets faced two waves of COVID-19. Like many companies, we have seen increases, such as IT spending, e-commerce activities, customer acquisition, but also decreases, such as the economic downturn leading to a freeze on the companies' spending, but overall we have been able to demonstrate our value with clients and help thousands of solve their urgent problems with the supply of IT products. As for every company, 2020 was quite different to any other year - but it has forced innovation and agility and, at the same time, clearly proved the resilience of Markit’s business model, the attractiveness of our solution to international companies the amazing adaptability of our 135 Markiteers.
