π We're celebrating five years since the start of our contract with the United States Marine Corpsβthe world's largest KC-130J operator! π¦ We've now spent 420k+ hours on USMC aircraft, and worked on more than half of their 78-strong fleet. π Since October 2021 there has always been at least one USMC aircraft in our hangars... at one point, we even hit six aircraft in flow simultaneously. β We're excited to build on this highly successful relationship as we continue to provide on-demand availability. πΏ Release the foam! π π· As our Greensboro facility nears completion, everything needs to be testedβincluding our state-of-the-art fire suppression system. π₯ Fires can spread rapidly in aircraft hangars, so systems like these need to put out an enormous amount of high-expansion foam very quickly. π«οΈ The foam forms a blanket that smothers fires and prevents combustion of fuel and other material. 𧽠Cleanup isn't actually that bad: within roughly 24 hours, the bubble structure will break down and the remainder gets flushed down a drain to a detention pond. ποΈ As satisfying as this looks, we hope this is the only time we need to activate the systemβ¦ nevertheless, it's another step forward for our Greensboro operation!
