We’re proud to share that MHA has once again been recognised as one of the Top 20 Large Care Home Groups in the UK by carehome.co.uk, marking our ninth year in a row receiving this honour. To be acknowledged consistently over nearly a decade speaks volumes about the standard of care, kindness and commitment shown across our homes every single day. This recognition is based on feedback from residents and their families, making it especially meaningful to everyone involved. We’re also especially proud that: ⭐ MHA The Homestead has been named a Top 20 Care Home in the South East ⭐ MHA Pennystone Court has been named a Top 20 Care Home in the North West Congratulations to our dedicated colleagues whose hard work creates supportive, welcoming places where older people can thrive. And thank you to all those who took the time to share their experiences. A fantastic achievement and one we’re incredibly proud of. 💛 #MHA #LiveLaterLifeWell #Top20CareHome
Jill was very familiar with the home as her aunty and daughter have worked there previously, and currently her mum and another daughter work here.
After moving to the UK from Zimbabwe, Netsayi started working in various care homes before applying for a permanent position at MHA Handsworth, her first full time role in care until today Since joining the home, she has progressed from a care assistant to senior care assistant, a role she has been doing for more than 15 years.
Due to personal circumstances Mark had to move back to his home county, but thankfully an MHA home was not too far away 😀
“Working in domiciliary care, it was sometimes very stressful, and you were always moving around, however by working at MHA Hall Grange I now feel I have some stability and regularity."
Joanne Mitchell, activity coordinator at the home created, directed and was also a member of the cast of the pantomime, which went down a treat with the audience.
“The role of an activity coordinator is something I can see becoming more advanced, especially as time progresses and the residents' experiences with technology changes."
“Bridging differences through the power of conversation.” That was the mission at MHA this week. For Race Equality Week (2-8 Feb), we did not just talk about change, we practised it. Through our ‘Beyond the Surface’ challenge, our teams explored: 👂 Active listening, focusing on intent and identity 😄 Shared joy, connecting through food and music 🙌 Heritage, recognising the values that shape us Inclusion is not a one-week event. It is a daily commitment to making sure everyone in our community feels heard and valued. At MHA, equality, diversity and inclusion sit at the heart of who we are, shaping our culture and the care we provide.
We spoke with Karina as part of MHA’s new initiative aiming to shine a spotlight on their senior care assistants and what led them to develop into these roles.
The duo are often working alongside each other but ensure they keep their work/home life separate, including any arguments 😄
