๐ค Celebrating Hoosier Women โ Meet award-winning news anchor and television host Jane Pauley. A Warren Central High School and Indiana University Bloomington grad, Jane began her career at WISH-TV in #Indy, was the first woman co-anchor on a major newscast at NBC Chicago, worked at the Today Show and Dateline CNBC and hosted her own show. Now anchor of CBS Sunday Morning, she continues to make a local difference as a board member of The Mind Trust, a non-profit supporting education, and lends her name to Jane Pauley Community Health Center, providing health care to those without insurance. ๐ฐ
๐ก๐ญ Celebrating Hoosier Women โ Meet Madame C.J. Walker (born Sarah Breedlove). She was an entrepreneur, innovator, philanthropist and social activist. The first of her family born into freedom, Walker transformed herself into one of Americaโs first self-made woman millionaires. She got her start by selling her homemade hair care products for Black women door-to-door, known as the โWalker system,โ and eventually presided over her own factory and put her wealth to work by supporting causes such as the NAACP.
๐ Celebrating Hoosier WomenโMeet Eva Kor, a Romanian-born #HolocaustSurvivor who immigrated to Indiana in her mid-30s. Author, public speaker and founder of CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center, Eva's perseverance and forgiveness will live on worldwide. ๐
